Normally I'd be sad as my gpu died and I just got a PNY 5080 from microcenter last week, however, the card that died was a normal use gigabyte 3080 ti from 2021.

Yea, I have a strong feeling that Staples order will get canceled. I'd prefer 5080 but I'm honestly happy with either...and would prefer a super, whenever in the hell that thing launches

Yah it's just a price difference game I think. I believe 5070 TI 16GB will play 4K no problem like a 5080.

The 5070 12GB deal is crazy. 38% cheaper than the 5070 TI, 56% cheaper than 5080.

I think the 12GB specs are too gimped though.

my 5070 ti from staples shipped this morning. although I did just find out the 'free delivery' is going to be through doordash so now I'm a different kind of worried. gl

ETA: received the card this morning with no issues.

I'm naive enough to think isolated drops is the market trend when nVidia can't release the Super Series because rumor is that the VRAM needed is 3x the cost (going from 2GB chips to 3GB chips to get to the 50% increase in VRAM. super series now delayed even though it's already made because 5070 TI Super may be $2000. LOL.

When OpenAI and Anthropic can't IPO/FLOPs the IPO, we can say the bubble popped but guess what they will be? Protected for sake of National Security and Too Important to Fail when multiple Chinese SOTA models have already caught up to Fable 5.

US Gov can't let OpenAI and Anthropic go belly up or we're dead in the new cyberwars.

Thus... they will prop up the billionaires this time instead of the poor saps who lost their homes. It is what it is.

some Data Centers plans are on-hold but then AMD just came out with their Helios, no one knows what's really happening since this crap is changing on the daily.

AI bubble callers will keep calling for it every day, one day they will be right like a broken clock is right twice a day. It's not really foresight... lol.
