I have owned these in AA size for several years, very satisfied and I would buy again (but no immediate need!). They have been recharged 100 times or more, with none of the cells failing prematurely.

Definitely not the lowest. I went back and checked what I bought my 4 packs for back in November of last year. I bought 2 of them for $16.39. So back then they were about $8.19/pack.

That being said .............................. in for 2 more packs!

Not really. The regular price had been around $1.83-1.90'ish for the longest time. I bought a 12-pack for $22.03 last year which would put those around $1.83/battery and kept seeing $1.88'ish as the normal after that. I think they're just going up in price. Maybe they'll drop around BF/Christmas again, but it won't be by much. The ones that hardly ever go on "sale" are the AA's.

I see the Panasonic BQ-CC17 recommended a lot. It's a purposefully slow charger, but that's supposed to help preserve the batteries longer.

How do I know when to retire these? I've had some rechargeables for years now. Is there a charger that will tell me when they are cooked? My new ones and old ones are all mixed. Some get charged more, others sit in a kids toy for 5 years.
