Hunts taste funny to me. They also use corn syrup now. They use to use real sugar, even bragged about it. Now its as cheaply made as it can be.

Go to Aldi and try their organic ketchup. Best out there.

Hunt's ketchup here is the budget tomato ketchup option, with the strongest appeal coming from its lower acidity and more savory tomato flavor compared with Heinz. The formula is also described as using corn syrup now, while the Hunt's All Natural version is the one tied to cane sugar. The deal itself had coupon problems for some, and there is concern it may be expiring soon. The plastic bottle should be checked carefully on arrival before tasting.

Common Questions (4)

  • Hunt's is described as less acidic, with more tomato concentrate and less vinegar than Heinz. That gives it a more savory tomato flavor, though some shoppers prefer Heinz or organic store-brand alternatives instead.

  • The coupon can fail to apply and may show that the promotion has already been used the maximum number of times. Some shoppers were still able to place the order without the coupon, but the advertised coupon discount is not guaranteed to work for every account.

  • The standard Hunt's ketchup is reported to use corn syrup, while Hunt's All Natural Tomato Ketchup is the version to buy for cane sugar. That makes the All Natural bottle the better pick if you want a sugar-sweetened ketchup instead of the regular formula.

  • It may be close to expiration, so it is worth checking the date when it arrives. One shopper still received theirs successfully, but the deal may be best for immediate use rather than long storage.

I haven't tried Aldi, but Lidl organic is also much better than Heinz.

You gotta buy the Hunt's All Natural Tomato Ketchup for cane sugar.

isn't this the same not great tasting ketchup that Mcdonald's serves as well? Also Krogers Simple Truth organic ketchup is the same as the Heinz simply but for less and tastes good!

My family prefers the taste of Heinz, and with a costco membership Heinz Simply 3-pk of big bottles works out to only about $0.08/oz vs the Kroger $0.11/oz. Not a huge difference if somebody wants to buy less bulk or wants the organic aspect specifically. Thanks for the recommendation.

The only problem with Hunt's is that it's not Heinz. The look of disappointment and bewilderment on everyone's face when you put a bottle of Hunt's ketchup on the table is just not worth the savings around here.
