The Lefant M3 MAX stands out as a budget self emptying robot vacuum and mop with strong suction, quiet operation, and a dock that washes and rewets the mop. The app supports customizable scheduling, and the robot can handle everyday dust and pet messes well enough to stretch time between full vacuuming. The main drawbacks are software and mopping quirks, including weak multi floor handling, limited mop water control, and carpet detection that can miss rugs. It is a compelling value if the dock based mopping setup fits your home.
Common Questions (5)
Yes, the code was reported working after the item came back in stock, with the deal showing as $299 minus a $150 coupon. Multiple shoppers also confirmed the promo code applied successfully.
Yes. The mop is wetted before mopping, and the app can be set to return to the base at intervals to rinse and rewet the mop so it is not cleaning with the same dirty pad. On first use, the pump may need a pass or two to prime before the pads get fully wet.
It can create maps for multiple floors, but the saved map may not persist unless the dock is moved to that floor during mapping. Because the robot returns to the base to wash the mop and refill water, it is less convenient if you want to carry the robot between floors without moving the dock.
At $150, it is positioned as a self-emptying combo vacuum near the price of a basic name-brand robot vacuum. It can help keep floors tidy between deeper cleanings, but it is not a full replacement for regular vacuuming.
Carpet and rug detection can be inconsistent, and it may sometimes mop the whole carpet instead of avoiding it. That makes it less reliable if you have mixed hard floors and rugs that need automatic mop-lift or avoidance.

With a kid and a dog, living in the city where we walk in off the street, it keeps our vacuum chore to once a week instead of 2-3x.

Sounds like it's good - especially for the price. Thank you for taking time to review for the SD community!
I had high hopes for the Lefant M3 because, on paper, it offers a lot of features for the price. The robot cleans reasonably well, and the self-empty/self-washing station is a nice addition. However, after using it for a while, I found that the software experience is disappointing and significantly limits the product.

One of the main reasons I bought this robot was its advertised multi-floor mapping capability.
My charging dock is permanently installed on the first floor, so I wanted to create a map for the second floor.
Here is exactly what I did:
1. Started the robot from the charging dock.
2. Selected Create New Map in the Lefant App.
3. Carried the robot to the second floor.
4. Started the mapping process.
5. The robot successfully scanned the entire second floor.
After finishing, the robot tried to return to the charging dock. Of course, the dock was still downstairs, so it couldn't find it. I then carried the robot back to the charging dock.
Unfortunately, the new map was never saved. I then asked Lefant support and they said I have to bring the dock to every floor if I want to create a new map.
If this is the intended behavior, I honestly don't understand the design. A robot advertised with multi-floor mapping should not require users to move the charging dock to every floor just to create a new map. That defeats the whole purpose of having multi-floor support.

Another issue is the mopping performance.
The app only lets you choose the Wash Mop Interval (for example every 5, 10, or 15 minutes). There is no option to adjust the water level.
I selected a 10-minute wash interval, but after about 6ā7 minutes the mop pads were already almost completely dry. That means the robot spends the last few minutes basically wiping the floor with nearly dry pads.
The only solution is to reduce the wash interval to 5 minutes, but then the robot spends much more time traveling back to the dock instead of cleaning.
A water level adjustment would have solved this problem.

Compared with other robot vacuum brands, the Lefant App lacks many useful settings and customization options such as Vac then Mop mode. The hardware seems capable, but the software doesn't allow users to get the most out of it.

I don't think the Lefant M3 is a bad robot.
Pros:
- Good value for the price.
- Self-emptying and self-washing dock.
- Good vacuuming performance.
Cons:
- Multi-floor mapping does not work as expected.
- Mop pads dry out too quickly and no water flow adjustment.
- The app and firmware need significant improvement.
I hope Lefant continues improving the firmware because most of my complaints appear to be software-related rather than hardware limitations. If the software becomes more polished, this robot could be much more competitive.
