I think this is the monitor that installs a bunch of Spyware the second you plug it in. What a crazy thing... How is Windows so bad that it lets a monitor install Spyware on your machine as soon as it is plugged in.

It's worse than that. Even my 3 year old 38" LG IPS installed the same driver after a windows update and I got the McAfee popup ... I have this monitor, an LG OLED TV ... but I'm going to avoid them going forward.

LG is taking advantage of Windows letting manufacturers install what should be a driver program to go with their driver. What LG is doing is that they're installing a spyware program to go with your monitor driver.

Apparenty the bad press is getting around and Microsoft is making LG get rid of it:

That said, I cannot support LG. If you watch that entire Gamers Nexus video, the company has been doing shady stuff like this for awhile and they don't deserve the your hard earned money.

Spyware are things like viruses, ransomware, worms, and trojans. LG doesn't install any of those things.

Just because it's a corporation that's installing software doesn't mean it's legit. When a company uses the Windows driver auto-install feature to install adware (McCafe) built in to "monitor software" that has system permission to view and transmit anything and everything on your display, that 100% IS spyware. Especially when the user consents to none of this, they just plug in the monitor and the installation happens. Just because it's from a first party doesn't mean it's legit.

Corporations can be just as evil as an independent bad actor, look around.
