This 14 inch MacBook Pro pairs the M5 Pro, 48GB of unified memory, and a 1TB SSD for buyers who want strong sustained performance in a portable workstation. The fan cooled chassis is framed as a better fit than the passive cooled MacBook Air for longer workloads, and Wi Fi 7 is supported, though only up to 160 MHz. Pricing context is mixed, with earlier Micro Center and B and H purchases landing lower, and the nano texture display adds $550. It reads as a solid high end upgrade if the current configuration matches your needs.

  • The deal can be attractive compared with earlier Micro Center pricing before recent price increases.

  • The 14-inch MacBook Pro with a fan can reduce thermal highs during sustained workloads compared with passive-cooled MacBook Air models.

  • The configuration is described as a binned 16-core CPU and 16-core GPU M5 Pro variant rather than the higher 18/20 variant.

  • B&H ordering is reported to have worked well for technology and camera equipment, including large business orders.

  • The claimed $400 savings may be overstated because Apple education pricing and required EDU verification can change the comparison.

  • Nano-texture adds $550, which can significantly increase the effective cost of the configuration.

  • The Wi‑Fi 7 capability may be limited to 160 MHz rather than full speed, which can affect wireless performance expectations.

  • The listed 16/16 CPU/GPU configuration may be incorrect on Apple's site, which could matter if a return requires matching the exact spec.

I don't get the math. When I spec it out on Apple's website, it comes to $2889. Thats only $190 off, not the $400 B&H claims. Am I missing something?

You're likely looking at the Apple Education Store rather than the main one. This configuration is $2889 on the EDU store and $3,099 on the regular one (and Apple forces you to verify EDU status, unlike the past)

I don't think we'll get a new MBP this year, they already updated this year. Possible yes, but more likely early next year.
We will. Sooner than the rumors are saying.

Yeah that's not happening. The m5 pro just came out like 4 months ago. I know because I was waiting to order my new work machine. M6 maybe. Possibly even likely.

Stay away from B&H at all costs. Resist owners who don't deserve your money. Check BBB
Bbb? lol. The most worthless site and organization. People think it's a three letter government agency that will break down doors. Go to bed boomer.

Just fyi, this is the binned 16/16 m5 pro variant, not the full 18/20 m5 pro
How do you know it's the binned version?

This thing was like $2350 at Microcenter before the price increases.
My wife picked it up on a 15% off sale there for that (well $2,379).

It's sad this is a good "Deal" at $2,699 after the massive price increases last month.

Might as well wait 2 months for new stuff coming out.
The next gen equivalent of this - M6 Pro/Max - likely won't be launching until spring 2027.

The rumored redesign is also going to come with its own price hike. They are going to be shockingly expensive.

16/16 sounds wrong. Apple offers no such configuration. It's supposed to be 15 CPU / 16 GPU.

I guess if you ever needed to return this, you can nitpick on their website mistake.

You're correct, 15/16 is I believe the counts for the binned m5 pro, my bad
