I don't get the math. When I spec it out on Apple's website, it comes to $2889. Thats only $190 off, not the $400 B&H claims. Am I missing something?

You're likely looking at the Apple Education Store rather than the main one. This configuration is $2889 on the EDU store and $3,099 on the regular one (and Apple forces you to verify EDU status, unlike the past)

Yeah that's not happening. The m5 pro just came out like 4 months ago. I know because I was waiting to order my new work machine. M6 maybe. Possibly even likely.

The next gen equivalent of this - M6 Pro/Max - likely won't be launching until spring 2027.

The rumored redesign is also going to come with its own price hike. They are going to be shockingly expensive.

16/16 sounds wrong. Apple offers no such configuration. It's supposed to be 15 CPU / 16 GPU.

I guess if you ever needed to return this, you can nitpick on their website mistake.
