Is this a good upgrade over a Pixel 2xl?

This or one of the ~$150 or so Moto G phones? Plan to use it as a "home" phone on a $9.99 USMobile plan.

Discount is only via the Woot App, not the website.

The phone's original perk of lifetime unlimited backup at Original Quality expired on January 16, 2021. Any new photos or videos you upload from the Pixel 2 today are automatically compressed to 16 MP for photos and 1080p for videos, which do not count against your 15 GB Google Account storage limit.

Oh ok. I have one sitting in my home but it's not charging. I'll get that fixed

Funny how people act like the phone is somehow trash when updates end.

Pixel 6a had a battery 'recall' which was fixed by a software update prevents battery overheating. They also had a $100-150 payment.

Absolutely do not waste your money here. Staff needs to do a better job. Maybe stop posting Woot garbage.

A $100 rebate would make the deal incredibly slick.

You should be able to make this phone good for the long run by replacing the stock firmware with LineageOS.

This isn't a "simple" thing, but someone reasonably tech saavy should be able to do it. (I did it on my Pixel 6.)

That way you'll still get updates after Google's EOL for the Pixel 6a.

Best to do this right after you receive the phone, and before transferring anything. So, if things fail, you don't lose anything.

If the software update fixed the issue then there isn't any issue with the phone , it's been resolved... Right ?

The "Pixel 6a Battery Performance Program" ended on July 8, 2026. Google's official page now explicitly says the program has ended and that support options are no longer available after that date.

You'll only have whatever Google warranty (if still valid for that IMEI) and the seller's return policy apply. The main risk is that an affected device could later have reduced battery capacity and charging performance, with no remaining eligibility for Google's free battery replacement or compensation.
