Unfortunately, the title is incorrect. It's not "refurbished", it's used. This is an ongoing trend with ebay resellers (and other places are behaving similarly).

If a third-party reseller says "refurbished" (or any euphemistic phrasing of the sort), but doesn't explicitly say what they've done -- then all they've performed is a power test, a wipe down of the casing, and a system reset. (And some places don't even bother to do a good job at that!)

No components have been replaced, no batteries refreshed, etc. In other words, NOTHING has been actually refurbished.

Descriptors such as "Very Good" or "Excellent" or "Open Box" are utterly meaningless and vague enough to suggest pretty much anything. Intentionally ambiguous.

(Don't be surprised if they sneak in machines that really ought to be in a lower tier. Assume any accessories (power supply, cabling, etc) are third-party or counterfeit…or missing outright.)

You might get a device that's been personally owned, babied on a felt-lined desk ….or a corporate-leased, beat-up road warrior laptop. Sight Unseen. Good luck!!!

.....also, a 16:9 aspect ratio display? Eww. They should knock another hundred off just for that. I know this is an older piece of hardware (10th gen Intel), but 16:10 was commonplace back in 2007. Some entire companies (Apple...!) have made 16:10 the default (and only option...!) for their laptops since....something like 2012? Maybe even earlier...?

I wish the ram wasn't soldered. Cant even remove the only usable part. I can't believe I have to search up old motherboards and ram just to have a workable computer. Hey, it's all worth it just so some **** can ask claude to summarize his email.
