Right? Components or even Co-ax. $14 is incredibly cheap. It's wild how cheap they can build things nowadays. Especially something as complex and intricate as a 4 individual drivers and a crossover set. They probably don't sound bad either, just don't expect to send 100watts rms to the woofers and 25 rms to the tweeters. Especially with a full range signal. Cut off those drivers at 80hz and up with a steep 24db/octave slope and it might have a chance but still doubtful. but anyways. Last thing I need or thought id be buying today when i woke up is more speakers but thanks to SD, here i am, weighing in if I should buy a set of components today. I'm thinking they could be a nice gift to somebody. Just don't know exactly who yet.

It's the effort that is worth more than a $15 gamble right?

Would these be alright for a 2007 car with oem speakers that keep going out?

If these are like the other ones in this line they're significant amounts of plastic/FRP rather than metal in the construction, but tbh you could do worse

With the efforts required to get a solid car install just get better speakers if you can (unless you just need anything that works I, get it sometimes cheap is great). Maybe if you are doing a diy boom box or similar these will be okay. I have tested the 8" version just a little. The 0.5" tweeter just can't play low enough to mate with a 6 or 8 inch woofer. $14 is really cheap tho.

These should work OK, but their sound quality & longevity is nowhere near that of any inexpensive "good" namebrand speakers in the $30-$40 price range such as the inexpensive Clarion Cobalt line, Infinity, Polk, Kicker, etc. Think of it this way: It is really annoying to take apart your car to replace speakers so is it worth an extra $20 or $30 to get decent quality speakers that you know will last many years that you won't have to replace for a long time, or would you rather gamble with these to save $20 or $30?
