This Costco SameDay coupon is a small discount on Instacart delivered Costco orders, and it can stack with other credits like executive rewards or scheduling discounts. The main appeal is convenience, especially when the order qualifies and the coupon actually applies. The catch is that Costco and Instacart pricing is marked up versus warehouse prices, so the $10 can disappear quickly once delivery fees and tip are added. There are also reports of targeting, redemption glitches, and delivery range or food safety concerns, so it works best when the math still makes sense.
Instacart SameDay buyers who already use delivery, because the coupon is listed in the booklet and should apply on that service.
It can be combined with a $10 Chase United monthly Instacart credit, a $10 executive credit, and a $2 scheduling discount for up to $22 off total. The practical limit is that Costco SameDay prices are marked up versus warehouse pricing, so the savings may be partly offset.
Yes, it is meant for Costco SameDay/Instacart orders, but it may be targeted and not work for every account. The coupon is also noted as being in the booklet, so the valid dates matter.
Yes. Costco SameDay and Instacart pricing is marked up above warehouse prices, and long-distance orders can add a $10 fee, so the coupon may not fully offset the higher base cost.
The coupon can apply in the cart and still show no visible discount, then later reject a second attempt as already redeemed. That makes the promo feel janky, so it is worth checking the final checkout total before placing the order.
Food court menu items are reportedly not available for SameDay delivery, and frozen items may sit in a hot trunk during multi-stop delivery. That makes food safety and item availability important limits to consider before ordering.

"We" know it's still a delivery service.
Just like any other delivery service, it's up to you on your own personal tipping preferences and amounts.
The question is legit. We don't know how the service pays their staff. Tipping on delivery is only needed for services that fail to pay a realistic wage.
I never tip these delivery services: FedEx (wouldn't tip them no matter what because their service sucks); Amazon (normal orders), USPS, UPS, Grocery store online-pickup orders (where they do the hard work of picking the product - but they don't offer an option to tip for this).
but I do tip on these: Grocery delivery that carries the product to my house.
My point is that the expectation to tip on these is more due to the lack of a sufficient wage than due to the type of service that the worker does. If it was based on the type of service, then the grocery store online-pickup orders would deserve more than the grocery delivery. The hard work is the stock picking part not the driving. The difference as best i can tell is for grocery pickup at the store, the employees are full time staff of the store (e.g., Safeway) so they get normal salary but for the delivery they are gig workers and don't get normal salary. I much prefer the former - business should charge the real cost of labor and factor it into their prices (while leveraging good OPERATIONAL efficiencies compete on cost) not expect to underpay labor and put a guilt trip on the customer to make up the difference.
Pricing:
Item prices are marked up higher than your local Costco warehouse.
Instacart uses the markup to pay for their delivery services.
Costco prices on Instacart.com are higher at checkout than on sameday.costco.com.
Most orders have no additional fees. Long distance orders subject to an additional fee of $10.

Why can't we have a delivery service like UPS but for local items where they just get paid a normal wage? They're not providing a unique service where quality can change.
