I agree. Better to spend money on those battery extender cases that can accommodate AA lithium batteries for 10yr battery life.

It seems like they don't sell them anymore. No need to update, but if you need more, this might be a decent deal. It does seem that this has been the normal price for a while though according to Amazon.

I'm sure a lot of folks may not have an immediate reason to update but I will say the second generation works MUCH better. I've used around 8 first gen's for years and I'm swapping most of them to 2nd. Battery life is still up for debate since I haven't got a full year of use.

what do you put them on? we have key chains and apple tv remote case, not sure what else to put them in
