The TCL QM5K is a 65 inch mini LED QLED TV that stands out for strong picture quality and unusually low pricing at $399.99. Brightness is praised, and the built in sound improves with a soundbar. The Google TV interface can feel slow, motion is described as weak on the 60 hertz panel, and the 65 inch model has three HDMI ports. A few comments point to the QM6K Pro at Costco as the better step up, especially with a longer warranty, making this a solid value if the refresh rate and processor tradeoffs are acceptable.

  • The 65-inch mini-LED price point can be unusually strong value for shoppers targeting under-$500 deals.

  • The TV can deliver excellent picture quality with QLED mini-LED performance for everyday viewing.

  • The built-in sound can improve significantly when paired with a soundbar for better audio.

  • The 5-year warranty can reduce worry for buyers concerned about hardware or software problems.

  • The TV can feel sluggish in the Google TV interface because the processor may not be fast enough.

  • The QM5K can be limited by a 60Hz panel, which may matter for motion-sensitive viewing.

  • The QM5K can have poor motion performance due to a weaker processor, even when brightness is good.

  • A defective unit can experience random shutdowns and severe green/purple color issues, creating troubleshooting and return friction.

I own two QM5K's and they have poor motion. This is because they don't have a very good processor even though they share panels with the 6K's. They are plenty bright, UI is a little sluggish (processor again), and work just fine after 7 months of ownership. At 65" you really need to buy the 6 series for good motion or preferably the 7 (I own two of those and motion is very, very good).

Purchased this same model from Best Buy in Dec..The worst..bought the extra 5 year warranty. Had to deal with manufacturer with issues..Tv kept randomly shutting down..Color was only green and purple..we dealt with Manufacturer for over a month. They wanted videos..pictures..more videos ..new HDMI cords. Reset to factory setting. It was a total nightmare. Finally asked for a return authorization and returned to Best Buy. Another nightmare..wanted me to pay an extra 200 bucks since the same model cost more..Nope. finally gave us another TV. Same model but they voided my extra 5 year warranty. New Tv works great. Will never buy from BEST BUY again..worst customer service ..
