I have a breville express that I payed $600 for. I have dialed down my machine so well that I now pull shots that taste better than 95% of the cafes I ever been to. I can't imagine how much better the shots will be with a $3000 dollar machine. But I suspect like most things in life, there's always someone with expendable money to buy something that isn't worth the money.

I have a Barista Pro that I got from a friend a while back. He thought it was busted because it wasn't working properly, but he went over a year without using it so all it needed was a good thorough cleaning. It's more machine than I could handle lol.

Having said that, I can absolutely see people paying this much for a machine even though I personally wouldn't as I'm only a semi-coffee snob Smilie

. I have my own stupidity I spend money on that other people think I'm crazy for lol.

Googled after taking a guess why something like this could be priced well above a Breville... and was right/internals are a bit more premium/built for heavy use... ontop of one button convenience coffee machine/vs having to dial anything in.

For anyone running a busy household or even a small/medium office, this Jura super‑automatic is in a different league than typical Breville home machines. Jura designs these for heavy daily use with Swiss‑engineered internals, automatic cleaning cycles, and backwards‑compatible parts, and real‑world data puts average lifespan close to a decade with proper maintenance. At $2,999 after coupon you're still paying a premium, but you're getting one‑touch espresso/latte/cappuccino, less staff training, and way fewer "why isn't the machine working?" moments compared to a semi‑auto setup. Definitely not a casual kitchen toy, but for offices that would otherwise be burning through cheaper machines (or sending people out for coffee), this starts to make sense as a long‑term convenience play.

I'm not ordering one myself/perfectly happy with my refurbished ninja luxe/from a prior slickdeals for now.

Last summer we stayed in an airb&b that had one of these machines. It was amazing. The coffee was delicious and it was soooo easy to use. Sadly the price is out of my range but after that experience, I get why people buy these machines.

I got one new from Bergdorf Goodman 3 years ago around BF stacking 3 different promotions, ended up paying around 2400 all said and done. It's been an awesome machine. I use it about 2-3 times every single day, has never had an issue. Just descale with the tablets (that you can get from 3rd party) and run the cleaning cycle when asked. I will say that the straight espresso quality is not amazing, I compared it with a Miele that's about $1500 and the Miele made a better straight shot. But the milk drink quality on the Jura blew the Miele out of the water and that's about all I drink.

As others have said, this is a beastly machine designed for high volumes like an office building. Way overkill for home use imo.

You have a manual machine. This is a superautomatic. It'll give you an excellent shot of espresso within 30 seconds of it turning on without any mess. I use to use a manual and loved it. Now that I've switched to a superautomatic I weep for all the time I wasted making and cleaning up espresso...
