As far as hitting $800...Costco had an actual price mistake which priced the C5 at B5 price of $800. However, that was caught very quickly by the time most people were awake on the West Coast, but a few lucky folks got it for that price on the East Coast and Mid West areas.
I got my c4 for 1k at Costco in 2025. They always mark down the older models.
