I got the ThermoMaven X2 the other day for $40 and besides being cheaper it seems like the better device IMO. The fancier P2 has too many tradeoffs for Wi-Fi connectivity.

The P2 has a range of 500ft b/w the base and nodes. The X2 has a range of 3,000 feet and better wall penetration.

The P2 has a battery life of 24 hours. The X2 has a battery life of 80 hours.

The P2 base has 4 buttons. The X2 has 9 buttons and is clearly easier to set.

I really don't need my meat thermometer to connect to the internet. And I've had way too many products in recent years start demanding a paid subscription to use features that were previously included. My X2 cannot connect to the internet. No private equity firm can buy ThermoMaven and push an OTA update that locks the alarm feature behind a subscription.

I can't tell if these comments are bs or not. If you go to Amazon recent reviews, there's a lot of negative comments but on here it's a golden probe.

I got this a while back. I had an issue with one probe was throwing a temperature warning even though I was nowhere close to a temp that should have triggered it. They replaced the probe within a week. The app UI isn't as good as the meater I tried, but I finally this one is more accurate.

Planned obsolence .kinda like my innova. Your only one software revision away from incompatibility.
