I bought this, but it won't arrive until Friday. I'll give a review when I get it. My biggest concern is that it comes with a 12 volt 2500 mA power supply, but that is not enough in certain situations. These normally come with a 3000 mA adapter from other brands.

I would suspect it would work fine in these (most) scenarios:
  • 1 drive (2.5 or 3.5, any RPM)
  • 2 drives (1 x 3.5" and 1 x 2.5" laptop/SSD)
  • 2 drives (3.5" 5400 RPM / eco drives)
I would suspect it could get errors or show only one drive to the OS if you tried to use a 3.5" 7200 RPM drive along with another 3.5" drive whether 5400 or 7200 rpm. In that scenario, use a bigger 12 volt power supply on this that is rated at 3000 mA or higher. This will likely use the standard 5.5 mm × 2.5 mm plug size.

EDIT: The price on this jumped to $24.99 within 20 minutes of posting it as a deal. They must be using a bot to adjust the price on demand. This $12.99 price was in place since July 5th according to the Price History link. My only suggestion is to keep watching for it to drop again.

EDIT #2: This is a good candidate for Prime members to use "auto-buy". If you aren't familiar with it, look for the "Add to Auto Buy" button on the right side price box near the bottom. Click it and you can set an automatic purchase at a target price. It should autofill with the $12.99 price and you just need to set an expiration date and select "Create auto-purchase" at the bottom. If it drops again, you will be among the first to get one.
