Reviews on HD suggest you may get old stock batteries. If you take a flyer on this deal, review the battery date on the box and prepare to return it. Ensure the badging also says XR on the battery which is the new labeling

Good to know. Might not purchase this because I don't want to deal with it being the old stock.

Not when you factory in that these are Powerstack batteries. $134-$138 has been the deal range for this kit.

Puzzled by the concern about "old stock". The DeWalt warranty is 3 years. Either from manufacture date or purchase date with receipt (whichever is later). I am aware of this as my 5ah PowerStack battery just had issues. The folks in the DeWalt warranty department asked for photos of the battery (showing the codes on top) and the receipt. The battery was manufactured in 2023. However, I bought the battery last month. The new battery should arrive in a couple of days and then i'll properly dispose of the old battery.

It's interesting that they have you write the ticket number, "scrap", and the current date on the battery and send them a picture after you've done so. My guess is to hold in their possession to keep someone from trying to get 2 free replacements.

Last Oct I bought two 5ah Powerstacks each with charger at Lowe's, $49 each. It's posted on SD if you search.
