The Seiko 5 Sports GMT is a good-looking 43 mm automatic watch that stands out for its Explorer II inspired styling and solid value at this price. The GMT versions are described as usually costing more than $250, and the deal gets stronger with Kohl's Cash and coupon stacking that can bring the effective price down sharply. The main knocks are the thick case and the lack of a sapphire crystal, with some also preferring better specs from Citizen or Chinese alternatives. The green dial also appears darker in person than in photos, making it a strong pick if the design and Seiko name matter most.

  • The deal can generate Kohl's Cash and Instant Kohl's Cash that lowers the effective checkout price.

  • The $297 price can look favorable versus local pricing for the same silver dial model.

  • The GMT Seiko 5 Sports is positioned as a strong value for a nice GMT watch.

  • The watch's look is appealing and can resemble the Rolex Explorer II style for buyers who like that aesthetic.

  • The watch may not meet sapphire-crystal expectations at this price point.

  • The dial color can appear darker than expected based on product photos, which can disappoint for some variants.

  • The overall deal may feel only "ok" even though the watch itself is described as nice.

  • The watch can feel thick and weighty, which may be a drawback for buyers who prefer slimmer profiles.

Since this is basically a copy of a Rolex Submariner let me utilize my elite 160 IQ brain and give you all some (free) advice: Just get the Rolex instead.
Ah yes skip the $300 watch and opt for the $10k instead.

Based on current market, price appears good to me. Local store wants $380 for the silver face model list here so at $297, good deal.
Plus you get kohl's cash worth of $50

Is it just me, or has the Seiko 5 line gotten seriously overpriced? $200 feels like the absolute ceiling for what these offer, especially with the competition out there today. Anyone else feel like the value proposition just isn't there anymore?

Although it is nice, agree that they are overpriced. Citizen has a lot of models with better specs and materials. Not necessarily automatic so perhaps key difference there.

Okay, Einstein! 🙄 This Seiko more closely resembles the Rolex Explorer II in color and size. Unfortunately however, Rolex never offered the Exp II in polar white with a black bezel. If you wanted that, you would need to have it customized. That said, I happen to love the look of this watch and for the price difference, I think I'll put that savings in Bitcoin and have the custom Rollo made in 10 years when it's over $1M. Now, THAT'S a big brain move!

I ordered the green one AKA The Hulk. It came today. It's nice but looks thick. $297-$60(Kohl Cash)-$6(R10CB)-$15(BoA CB)-$12(BoA Deals CB) ~$205 ish. I think I will just keep it. Thanks.

Received mine today as well, guess I like thick watches because I like it and the weight of it. Color is a bit dark is my only disappointment, still nice.

Did either of you try to go for the white dial before it went out of stock? Also green dial version of the watch appears to look pretty good based on YT reviews.

I ordered both the silver\white and the green. I did not go to physical store so my buying decisions were based off photos. The photos on the site simply don't look this dark. In the end, disappointment is with how dark the green is not the watch. I'm a fan of the SSK line up.
