I agree that there should be a better price point, but this isn't too bad for someone who doesn't have many skills yet. It looks to be a copy of the old 2X4 Basics kit, which sold for a similar price. I picked mine up assembled (2x4 basics) for dirt cheap on FB marketplace and I can say that the resin is very strong and the structure holds a good amount of weight.

Same. Got mine for $25 (2x4 basics kit with shelf) from local sale. I like it. Wouldn't pay $70 though.

Not sure I get why people buy these? Are they supposed to be portable/on-site setup/tear-down workbenches?

I got it (the original 2x4 Basics brand) a few years ago - it was something like $35 for the set which included the hutch kit. I went for it because it was easy to build out and I wanted replace a stick built work table from a local machine shop. I changed the size on the fly and went a couple feet bigger. At 1/2 to 1/3 of this price it works. It definitely doesn't work at $70.
