I can confirm this style of ratchet strap is not a gimmick, the convenience is worth the extra cost. Can't comment on this particular brand / product tho

totally right... For 1-inch straps, ratings typically range from a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 300 lbs to 1,000 lbs. Their minimum break strengths (the point of failure) are usually between 1,200 lbs and 3,000 lbs. For safe hauling, always rely on the WLL, which represents \(\frac{1}{3}\) of the total break strength

probably all fake reviews. ratchet straps already suck. this seems to introduce 2 more points of failure.
