After going through a number of Ember mugs over the years, and both of ours dying out of warranty for the nth time, my wife and I switched to the Nuwave mugs from Costco.
I wish we had not bothered with Ember for so long. Anyone looking for a replacement here, I'd recommend checking out Nuwave. Just a friendly FYI

I second that. Ember was not good and neither was their support for me. Nuwave one is much better just wish they would relocate where you turn it off cause I'm constantly hitting it with finger.

Yep. I'd pass on Ember mugs, too. They're one of the most blatant examples of 'planned obsolescence' I've ever seen.

I had one for a couple days. I babysat its power levels/consumption and confirmed my suspicions. Even when you've got it on the charging pad, thinking you're doing the battery a favor by using the power from the pad instead, it'll consume power from its battery then recharge itself again. Stupid. In other words, if you use it for long periods each day, you might be cycling through the battery several times a day and that's no bueno for battery longevity.

Designed to fail. I returned mine.

For some reason, I just never liked the taste of the coffee after it's been in the Ember cup for too long. Wife got 12 oz for me pre-pandemic and used it for a few months and always felt something didn't taste right.

I've had two ember mugs that have lasted more than two years. I wouldn't say they're designed to fail, think it's just luck of the draw.

That said, I'd really recommend the 14oz over the smaller sizes. Also really recommend the stainless steel model, much easier to keep clean.

An obvious and annoying design flaw. I can't believe that passed usability testing. Even still, I prefer it. I never planned on using the pour over net but that's how I make my coffee every day now. It's such a great product aside for that awful button.

They are frequently "on sale" for 35% off. 40% is slightly higher than normal, but MSRP isn't real here.

Yeah, I bought one last year for $59, but that was a sale and a SHOP.com coupon..

Please do yourself a favor and remind yourself to never put this in a microwave. The firefighters at my home were amused at how the microwave door was found 50 feet away from the microwave.

I love my Ember but don't trust the company.
The same design flaws since its inception and they do nothing to correct.
Slow charging, short heating time, unable to charge while liquid is still in the cup.

They don't care.

Well I love my ember mugs even though the charging pins get stuck. The one only turns on and off with the app sometimes. The other one never connects. However I got them as Refurbished on woot for $39 and they were fine for about a year and for that reason I love them. I would never pay full price or even this price for them though. $40 is the sweet spot if you can find one around that price.

That's too much $$$. We just use all our regular old coffee mugs and use $10 mug heaters to place them on!
At Amazon, SEARCH: Gaiatop Coffee Mug Warmer, 36W Fast Heating, 5 Temp Settings, 0.5-9H Timer
