This Frigidaire countertop bullet ice maker is a compact way to keep fresh ice ready without using freezer space. It makes 9 cubes in about 5 to 6 minutes and can produce up to 26 pounds a day, with melted ice recycled back into the reservoir. The tradeoffs are softer bullet ice that melts faster, noticeable noise, and a unit that needs regular cleaning. Reliability concerns also come up, with reports of failures within months to a couple of years. A handy option if convenience matters more than hard, freezer style ice.
Common Questions (5)
No. Countertop bullet ice is softer and thinner because it is only cooled just below freezing, not down to freezer temperatures, so it melts faster than refrigerator or bagged ice.
Reported lifespans are often short, with failures around 7-9 months, 10 months, or within about two years depending on use. Some units also develop fan, gear, or sensor problems, so durability is a common concern.
The listed $120 reference appears inflated; the model has been around $69 on Amazon, so the current price is only a small discount. That still compares favorably with some countertop ice makers priced much higher, such as GE models around $400.
It can produce 9 bullet cubes per 5-6 minute cycle and up to 26 lb of ice in 24 hours. The machine also recycles melted unused ice water into fresh batches, so it keeps making ice as long as it has water.
It can be noisy while running and it does not keep the ice frozen, so it keeps making ice continuously. It also needs regular cleaning because the reservoir can get dirty and yellow quickly if it is not fully scrubbed about every two weeks.

EFFICIENCY: Each 5-6 minute cycle produces 9 ice cubes, with a total capacity of 26lbs in 24 hours. When unused ice melts, the machines recycle the water to produce a fresh batch of ice. At any time, you may enjoy fresh ice

My maker needs a new 120mm fan that pulls the hot air off. It howls lust like a heater motor in your car. I have had it for 10 months and use it once or twice a week, so I am disapointed that something from this brand can have sutch issues at this point of its life.
If you ever had the french door refridgerators with ice and water in the door, you will probably have the issue of the ice maker crapping out in it. They wanted $900 for a new left hand door to fix it. My solution was to get a table top maker and bag my own ice to fill the fridges ice dispensor manually.
You spend $5k on a pretty fridge that lasts 5yrs. The basement fridge is a 1981 gibson and I replaced the fan 4yrs ago.. Things are made to be disposible these days..
Downside is these are a bit noisy and they're making ice non stop because they typically don't keep the ice cold enough to stay frozen after making.
