This MSI Prestige 16 AI+ stands out as a thin, premium 16 inch OLED laptop with strong battery life, a very bright touchscreen, and solid everyday responsiveness. The Core Ultra X7 358H and Arc B390 graphics are praised for productivity, light coding, presentations, and even some esports gaming, while 32GB of memory and the 1TB SSD make it feel well equipped for long-term use. The main knocks are the large touchpad, shallow keyboard feel for some, and repeated reports of heat and fan noise under load or even at idle. It feels like a capable portable work machine if you value screen quality and memory over raw graphics power.

Common Questions (5)

  • Heat is a recurring concern: some units are described as very hot to the touch, with fans spinning hard even at idle and the power brick also running hot. A few reports say the heat settles after Windows updates, but others still see warmth near the charging port and vents after updating.

  • For buyers who want the Panther Lake X7-358H with B390 graphics, the price is seen as unusually low for this class and competitive with much pricier alternatives. The tradeoff is that it is still integrated graphics, so it makes sense mainly if you value the 32GB RAM, portability, battery life, and strong everyday performance over a discrete GPU.

  • The 16-inch 2.8K 120Hz OLED panel is described as bright and beautiful, with one report calling it a great 1000-nit screen. The touchscreen is useful for quick taps during presentations, and there is a keyboard key to disable the touchpad so you can use touch without a mouse.

  • The 32GB configuration is the safer choice for this CPU and for longevity, since 16GB is repeatedly described as a bare minimum and can become limiting for multitasking, browsers, and heavier productivity. The main practical upside of this deal is avoiding an unupgradeable 16GB ceiling.

  • Battery life is reported as strong for basic work, with one owner expecting a full workday at lower brightness and another getting over 1.5 hours of unplugged e-sports gaming. The low-power iGPU setup and efficient CPU make it a better portable option than many dGPU laptops.

I was about to get a Thinkpad x9 15p. How does this stack up to the x9 15p?
Comparable weight and build quality. Performance comparison will highly depend on which exact CPU is configured on the Thinkpad. A Thinkpad x9 15p with matching configuration runs about $2500 MSRP.

I ended up picking it up today. It's a nice laptop. However, I don't like how big the trackpad is and the area below the keyboard is too long. Also, this thing runs super hot. Wasn't doing anything and fans were at all full speed and the chasis got really really hot. Very light weight. Nice build. Sturdy. Its a good laptop if you don't mind the large space below the keyboard and heat

That Fan spinning up and running hot is probably Windows updates running in background. That is very common thing whule setting new Windows devices for the 1st time. This will go away shortly.

For the chipset and specs, this is indeed a fantastic deal. If they have one in-store near you though, you might want to check it out first. I suspect the input devices (specifically the keyboard) might be a bit divisive. I found it to be very shallow and uncomfortable to type on, so that was a deal-killer for me. I really like the Lenovo-type keyboards though, with more travel. Otherwise, I would have thrown this in my cart right then and there.

Got it for the online price at my local Costco. Been using it for only a day but I like it a lot. It is very responsive, beautiful screen, speakers are decently loud for calls, keyboard and trackpad feel good to me as well.
Did they give you a hard time for price matching their online store?

Thank you for posting. Got one today for my wife. She was using a ASUS Zenbook Pro duo which was heavy and battery life is not as great anymore. I am taking that one and she get the new one.

It would be great to do it before the sales end, so people can decide whether to buy it or not.

Great deal!
For those that can wait would note that the Nvidia RTX spark chip is scheduled for release this fall and will be a generational leap over this sort of laptop.
Bad comparison and bad advice for multiple reasons; some of which others have already pointed out.

Nvidia's "generational leap" claim is directly in reference to AMD Halo Strix and Intel's Arrow Lake, not this laptop's Panther Lake package.

RTX Spark laptops are rumored to launch with a starting price of $2,000 for the lowest bin variant that won't have the "generational leap" you're talking about.

The lowest model of the N1x will probably start at $3,000 and is slated to be 80w on just the GPU alone; of course it's going to perform better if you're pushing more power through it.

The lower versions are 45W GPU based on leaks.

This entire laptop has a TDP of 65W and has gaming performance on par with an RTX 4050 @ 25W on the iGPU.

Also, RTX Spark is ARM not x86, and it's being designed as a professional workload chip rather than a gaming one. We have no idea how the compatibility layer is going to work before release, and you'll likely be locked out of multi-player games that use anti-cheat.

same price warehouse and you will save SH ($15)
Thanks. Grabbed in warehouse, alongside groceries, diapers, gas, and a portable sauna, all totaling over $500. But I saved $15 on shipping.

Any thoughts on this vs a HP EliteBook X G1i 14" AI Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 7 258V - Copilot+ PC - WUXGA LED Touchscreen - 32GB Memory - 1TB SSD - Windows 11 Home? I picked up the HP from Costco and then this comes along...would be a daily use laptop for basic work stuff, browsing, etc.

I tried both this and the hp omnibook x with same igpu (same on sale price). The MSI has better ports and better performance with external displays. I would choose the MSI over the HP. I returned both since an nvidia card still seems better for my "retro" game. Was curious about the new igpu.

Technically everything has a gravitational pull. So yea. I was attracted to it from the start and we finally meet.
