The De'Longhi Magnifica Evo is a superautomatic espresso machine that stands out for convenient espresso and crema at a refurb price. The factory refurb units are often described as looking brand new, with solid coffee output, hot drinks, and easy maintenance once the grinder is dialed in. The milk system gets the most criticism, with recurring complaints about lukewarm froth, cleaning hassle, and extra failure risk, while the 90 day warranty is short. A practical pick if you want automatic espresso without paying premium prices.
Value-focused buyers upgrading from a basic espresso setup, because it can produce strong crema and very good coffee for far less than higher-end superautomatics.
Busy households making multiple coffees a day, because the machine can keep up with heavy use and still work well after years of regular brewing.
Milk-drink buyers who are willing to hand-clean the frother, because the latte temperature is acceptable and the milk parts can be cleaned by hand.
Home espresso drinkers who want a low-maintenance superautomatic, because the brew group only needs a hot-water soak and replacement parts are readily available.
Latte drinkers who want reliably hot milk, because the frother can leave drinks lukewarm and the milk system is hard to clean.
Espresso hobbyists chasing strong, barista-style shots, because the drinks can come out weak and the grind settings may feel contradictory.
Shoppers who expect a fully polished machine out of the box, because refurbished units can arrive damaged or need grinder adjustment before they pull properly.
People who want a machine that stays clean with minimal upkeep, because it purges water often and the milk system can crust up and smell if neglected.

Not only is it WAY easier to clean a milk frothing pitcher for a normal espresso machine's steam wand, but you decide how hot you want it. I really can't recommend the plus which is considered to be superior to the evo. Hopefully someone who owns the evo can chime on on how the milk frother is though
- I've never had that issue with mine. I've not checked the temperature, but latte's seem at an OK temperature. I don't think it'll ever get as hot as a dedicated milk machine/section in a more expensive machine
- Impossible? I just take it out and clean it by hand. Milk is a pita to get clean, the proteins stick and it can smell. I just rinse it after and put it on the dryer.
Overall I've been happy with mine for ~3 years now. One of my few complaints is the ground bin asks to be emptied WAY too quickly. I believe its on a 'ground pucks' timer, but it beeps after being only 3 pucks full which is annoying.I've only been using it for a couple weeks and it didn't take me as long as I thought it would to figure out how to make Espresso on a machine that isn't fully automatic. It probably took me about 20 shots to figure it out. Not all of the first 19 were undrinkable. Luckily, I already had a small kitchen scale to dial it in.
It would be nice to have a fully automatic machine because I'm sure I would get shots and milk drinks faster, but I'm kind of happy to have the machine I have because I think I can customize things a little more, especially the steamed milk/foam.

A few comments:
1. I had to adjust the grinder - initially only a few drops of coffee were coming out (at '3'; set to '4' and it's perfect with a nice creama)
2. Fully wrapped in plastic wrap and tape; was brand new
3. Better creama than Phillips 3200
4. Heat settings really work; coffee is HOT
5. I now understand coffee water filter setup better than I did the first time (I Costco-bought this 3 years ago then returned it) and it works well
6. The 90 day warranty and the tiny print instruction book are annoyances
But after the Capital One Shopping discount, my net on this is about $205. Can't beat that.
