CRC Heavy Duty Silicone Lubricant is a versatile dry silicone spray that works well for rubber, plastic, and metal parts that need a clean, low residue lubricant. The comments point to strong results on window tracks, sliding doors, gate hinges, door locks, seat adjusters, sunroof tracks, bicycle belts, and even snow shovels or plows. It dries quickly, leaves little greasy residue, and is easy to clean up. The main caution is that this version says not for plastics, and it is not the right choice for treadmill belts or rusted fasteners. It looks best for light duty lubrication where minimal residue matters.

  • Drivers fixing squeaky door seals and window tracks, because it keeps rubber soft, lubricates sliding tracks, and dries quickly without greasy residue.

  • Home mechanics maintaining treadmill belts, because silicone lubricant is the recommended type for belt lubrication.

  • Cyclists with Gates belts, because it is an officially recommended alternative that works well on bicycle belt drives.

  • Homeowners preventing snow buildup on shovels and plows, because it helps snow slide off instead of sticking.

  • People lubricating plastic parts, because this formula says not for plastics.

  • Treadmill owners needing a heavier, more heat-resistant belt lubricant, because this is described as a lightweight silicone spray that may not extend belt life.

  • Mechanics trying to free rusted bolts or stuck fasteners, because silicone lubricant is for lubrication rather than breaking corrosion loose.

  • Shoppers wanting a lubricant that leaves a lasting wet film, because it can evaporate quickly and leave little residue behind.

Naw, dude, I need this sooner than 2+ weeks
These are always a good time to pick up an extra can for me. I keep one at home, one in the RV and one in my truck. They do last awhile though.

In case it matters to you, this one says not for plastics. The HD 2 for $6.xx silicone lube says compatible with plastics. Free shipping (or it delivery) in about 2 days.

Can this be used under treadmill belts or need a different type of lubrication?
Definitely not. This is a low use lightweight silicone lubricant, and you need a more specific heavier silicone oil for treadmills that's a higher weight, more durable, and more heat resistant to extend the life of your belt.

Hmmm... I can't edit a very recent post... Home Depot Blaster Silicone lube 11oz. spray 2-pack for $6.96 is stated to be compatible with plastics as opposed to this one.

The rubber seal on the bottom of my garage door sticks to the concrete and sometimes keeps my garage door from opening. Will this help? if not, what do you suggest?

If you spray it on the belt, set up a camera for a video fit for submission to Funniest Home Videos.

Found this interesting on a search of what type of lube to use for different purposes.

I am wondering myself, not for the base rubber strip but for use on the rubber pulleys with bearings.

The price has only been lower that i can find is 6+ years ago and we are talking all time low of $2.28 just cents less. This is a good sale price to have on hand and not pay full retail when you need it.. I use alot of these outside gate hinges/latches and also use it on sliding glass doors, patio doors, window tracks etc. It leaves no greasy residue and dries quickly, making cleanup easy. Also great for Automotive: Door locks (car & home) Seat adjusters and sunroof tracks, Hood and trunk latches, Sliding rear windowand Window regulators
Stop the squeeky patio screen door also just be sure to clean the track first that goes for windows tracks also . I keep Spray dry silicone as well as WD40, and others etc as they all have seperate uses..... Thumbs up repped Estimated delivery Aug. 11 - Aug. 18

Sprayed this on window tracks and it seems to just evaporate away and not really leave aby lubricant behind. Maybe it's supposed to do that idk
