Just a heads up this isn't just splenda. The main sugar alternative is erythritol. That sugar gives me very bad heart palpitations and is related to an increase in strokes. When you see monks fruits, it's usually mostly erythritol and some monks fruit in a blend.

Thanks. I use Splenda (yellow packets) in my coffee, cereal, regularly, because its sweetness is very effective, and I thought it was a "better", "healthier" alternative.

I had no idea, and wasnt concerned, since I wasn't seeing an issue.

But dang, blood clotting and stroke, heart attack. I guess normal sugar is not so bad after all within moderation.

I guess I also need to chill on the diet sodas.

Yeah it actually took me a while to narrow down what was causing my issue. Once I did and looked up what erythritol did, a lot of red flags went up. Stopped using it immediately.

Splenda didn't cause this. I'm guessing you have several other contributing factors that you're leaving out.

What the other poster is saying is that what's normally in splenda packets isn't what's in this.

Also the study on erythritol is just a correlation, causation has not been proven. Sugar has it's own risks obviously. Everything has a negative in life it seems, my takeaway is everything in moderation.

Dammit! Thank you for the heads up, even if what another poster said (correlation not causation) is accurate. I have a family member with kidney disease and who had a stroke last year. /mournfully eyes bag of erythritol already in use/

Complete and total internet nonsense. This is a result of reading headlines and not actual studies. Erythritol is completely safe in normal moderation.

People love to mention this every time there's a product with erythritol. One study, a while back, that studied BLOOD erythritol (something our bodies produce naturally) and not dietary erythritol like in this product. It basically said that higher blood erythritol was more prone to heat disease and stroke. Guess what makes your body produce more natural blood erythritol? Heart disease. So basically the study concluded that someone with heart disease is more prone to a heart attack or stroke. Go figure....

The bottle is "Splenda" in big letters. User is saying it's more than just Splenda, has erythritol.

Haha, correlation causation, blah blah blah, I'll go with the actual studies.

Technically it has both erythritol and sucralose.

But yeah, L on them for not making it pure sucralose.

This is like when brands like Aleve make products that don't even have naproxen (the drug name for Aleve) in them.

Pure sucralose is 600x sweeter than sugar. How exactly do you sweeten something like coffee or whatever you're making with something 600x sweeter than sugar? That's completely unusable in a realistic situation. One grain wouldn't be sweet enough and two grains of sucralose would be too sweet to eat or drink.

Fillers like erythritol are needed for ease of use.
While I agree with your last point, they chose one of the most problematic and questionable to do it.
