Buy a lifetime sub for this app instead: https://digitalphotofra
Then you can recycle all your old iPads (even iPad 2s sometimes!). I have 6 photo frames all networked together in an isolated AppleiD. Work office 1, work office 2, home, parent's living room, home living room. All networked together via iCloud Shared album . Compatible with photos, live photos, videos. Dev is very engaged, super cool and it's getting updates.
It also now compatible with Immich! Highly, highly recommended. Worth every penny for lifetime price.
Disclaimer: I am NOT the dev, not affiliated with him in any way other than being a super happy customer. My family's memories are very important to me.

This Pastigio 15.6 inch Android frame stands out as a cheap, hackable picture frame that can double as a home automation dashboard. The included Frameo software gets regular updates, offers lots of display options, and the full HD panel is described as sharp. It also works with third party setups like Immich Kiosk, Immich Frame, and Fotoo, with ADB sideloading and custom home app tweaks. The main caveat is that its older Android 8 base raises security and compatibility concerns, and it lacks HDMI for broader dashboard use.
Common Questions (4)
Yes. The frame is identified as a Pastigio M15R5 running Android 8.0.1, and it can be sideloaded with apps such as Fully Kiosk, Immich Kiosk, and Immich Frame. ADB sideloading and setting a custom home app are used to point it at an app or URL.
The promo code has been reported to take about $30 off, bringing the price to $69.99 before tax in one case. Another checkout came out to $54.46 before tax, and clearing browser history plus removing another promotional discount made the code apply.
It is a stronger fit than an iPad for a dedicated wall display because it uses less power, looks like a picture frame, and has a 15.6" screen. The main limitation is that it has no HDMI, so it is not a direct DAKboard-style external display.
It can work, but older app versions may be needed. Immich Kiosk reportedly required Immich Frame to be installed first, and Immich Frame v50 crashed on Android 8 while v42 worked properly; the frame can then boot directly into Immich with Frameo disabled.

Photo Frame Premium Lifetime $69.99. That may seem steep, but if you have a bunch of iPads laying around it's a steal. The app does more than any other photo frame in existence. I've tried over 15-20+ apps and this one was so far ahead of anything. It was so comical how superior DigitalPhotoFrame App was.
You don't have to network the iPads. You can have each one show from different sources in your AppleID photos or immich or I think even Google Photos is supported (do not quote me on google though)
