I like this card, price / performance is good at this level vs. a 5080. Certainly worth it over the 5060 TI 16TB (too slow)
Should have researched more. I am on the hunt for the slim dual fan 5080 now!!!

I'm just worried that by the time the 6 series launches next year, the 6070 Ti is going to be closer to $1,500.

I'd only sell and downgrade if you are in need of cash and would like top use the extra cash to upgrade something else in your computer. I've been using a 3090 for 5 years now and while I know that I am ready to upgrade within the next year, the 3090 has bought me a lot of peace of mind all of this time. The 5080 is a good card but that memory in your 5090 is at a premium, and you will not have to worry about running out of VRAM or anything.
Worst comes to worst you can sell when the next series of cards comes out and just move over to a 6080...if you could find one that is...
