Exactly what I was waiting for! My state does a recycling program where I can do up to two air conditioners a year and get a $50 rebate. And then this would be a $20 rebate because it's an energy efficient air conditioner. So this would come out to about $100 for a Wi-Fi enable one which is what I really want.

15 SEER is about as good as you get for a window unit, and this is a good price.

My preference is a U or inverted U design, but you can't beat cheap and efficient (and easier to install).

I heavily do not recommend these to put in the wall. There are various units you can put as a wall unit that were meant as a window unit, but this ain't it. If you are gonna put it in the window as it's intended, it's fine, but I learned very difficult lesson with these as wall units! They broke very quickly! You want to use the ones that have an "extended chassis," but those tend to be too expensive and might as well buy a mini-split. However, I have found some, like the TCL, that don't have an extended chassis and are still great as wall units.

Loud at high fan speed. Amazon/BB reviews indicate possible high initial failure rate w/ poor mfg service. Note old style window sealing at ends of AC unit (Midea and Hisense, which I both have, use rigid foam panels) and may be the reason for higher operating cost, despite its CEER 15 rating. Appears to be decent budget window AC inverter/smart unit. I'd use a CC with free extended warranty.
