Recent reviews state the newer version has a rubberized handle instead of the older versions plastic handle and they don't like it. I agree and will not order one because of this.

The handle is still plastic, with some lined rubber, but the main handle is plastic. So if the rubber comes off, you still have your plastic handle.

All 'plastics' are not the same and their chemistry/properties can vary widely. I have the old original version of this pocket pry bar and the plastic is an incrediby hard & durable 'epoxy-like' plastic, yet not brittle. The newer version appears to have a 'softer' plastic (aside from the black rubbery parts), so all plastics are not created equal.
