This is smaller than you think. Please take a look at the 1/2/3 star reviews.

you dont need a dutch oven. i use a cookie sheet tray and an inverted stainless steel pot to trap the steam.

Bread dome pans are awesome, but decades of baking experience says that instead of trapping steam from the dough, you can make your own steam by pouring a cup of water into a hot broiling pan at the bottom of your oven when you first put the bread into the oven.

If you're cheap, do that instead.

That said, these have other uses beyond just bread, although I would definitely pay extra for a larger version instead of buying this one, so the bottom part would be more useful as a braising pan. The base of this one is only 9.5 inches.

An alternative to a cup of water is to put a heavy cast iron pan (something with thermal mass) in the bottom of your oven and then when desired throw and ice cube or two and it sublimates directly from a solid to water vapor. It can be a great way to add steam at the moment you want without introducing another variable of too much humidity with the wait for it to boil off into vapor.
