Seems like these would replace the motion sensor arm of floodlights?
But, that requires trashing a sensor.
Ours, anyway, have a switch to choose between no sensing, dusk-to-dawn, and motion/night.
I went ahead and ordered one of these, but the more I think about it, the more I don't know what to do with it. All of our outdoor lights but the one security flood are Zigbee bulbs with their own routines based on sundown making this redundant.
I can see the advantage of tying multiple lights or whatever to a single sensor, though, and not everything needs to be a "smart" device.

These mount into a standard electrical junction box, through the knockout hole [amazon.com] using the supplied connector nut, or into a threaded junction box [amazon.com], or box cover /wall plate [amazon.com] (such as would come with your floodlight + box kit).

Had one in my cart but I couldn't decide on a couple other things. Sold out while I was sitting still.
