This is a great workbench for under $100, probably the best I've seen for how well it is made and how sturdy it is. It just isn't strong enough to mount a vice to and hammer on it because this uses a particle board surface which will crack and fall apart. If you replace the 3/4" particle board top with 3/4" plywood instead, or even better use 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood glued together to make a very strong/sturdy/heavy top surface, you could easily mount a vice and do some light to medium hammering without hurting the workbench.
This WORKPRO 2 in 1 workbench and cabinet combo stands out for compact garage storage and light duty workspace use, with lots of drawers and a sturdy feel for under $100. The cabinet layout is handy for tools, and the bench is described as solid enough for 3D printing, painting, crafting, and gardening tasks. The particle board top is not suited to mounting a vice or heavy hammering, and assembly can be tedious with many parts. Shipping and fit issues also show up, including damaged pieces, missing parts, and holes or drawer bottoms that do not line up.
Light-duty makers who need a compact bench for 3D printing, painting, crafting, or gardening tasks, because it holds tools and materials well at under $100.
Users needing a heavy-duty surface for permanently holding equipment or raw materials, because it is meant for lightweight use rather than heavy loads.
Some boxes arrive complete and undamaged, but there are also reports of damaged parts, wrong parts, wrong hole placement, and missing drawer bottoms. It is worth checking every piece before assembly starts.
At around $90 to $100, it is described as a fairly sturdy bench with lots of drawers and useful storage for light-duty tasks. At $200 or more, it is better to shop around, and several people would only buy it closer to $50.
Assembly is doable but can be painful because there are many parts and some units have fit issues or missing pieces. Checking that all parts are included before starting can save a lot of frustration.
Yes, it has many drawers and enough storage for tools, and it works well for 3D printing, painting, crafting, and gardening tasks. It is not meant to permanently hold heavy-duty equipment, large planks, or raw metal stock.
It is sturdy for light to medium work, but the particle-board top is not ideal for mounting a vise or hammering on. Replacing the 3/4-inch top with plywood, especially two glued layers, would make it much better for heavier use.
Purchased about 5 years ago for $100 from Walmart. Put it all together and there were no drawer bottoms in box. I was reimbursed by seller for entire purchase but had to make my own bottoms. This purchase is really a roll of the dice.
Bought this while the deal was live. Very happy with it so far.
Packaging/Delivery: Fine. The box and pieces all arrived and there wasn't damage to my order. It's light on the foam padding so I can see how it could be messed up. It all shipped within a couple days too.
Value: At $100 and under, I think this workbench is perfect for lightweight purposes. We 3d print, paint, craft, and have gardening tasks. This bench will handle the tools and materials just fine. I would not use this to permanently hold heavy duty equipment and large planks of wood or raw metal materials. At $200+, MSRP, I would say shop around and look at options. From what I saw, the low reviews were mainly due to damaged shipment and not the bench itself. I am very happy with the bench. Lots of nuts and bolts but it's not hard to put together at all.
