This Workpro adjustable workbench stands out as a strong value for a starter shop table, especially at this price. The 48 inch top is reported as 22 inches deep, with a sturdy steel frame and wood surface that feels solid for the money. It also lends itself to simple storage tweaks, like adding a shelf underneath. The main cautions are that it does not include a power strip and it lacks a lower cross brace, so adding wheels or moving it often may call for extra reinforcement. A practical, budget friendly bench if you want basic workspace more than premium construction.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes, it's being treated as a strong starter workbench value at this price. It has sold for about $64 to $85 in prior purchases, and the main tradeoff is that the construction is basic rather than premium.

  • The wood top measures 48 inches long by 22 inches deep, not 24 inches. One comment also describes it as 48 inches wide by 22 inches deep, so the practical footprint is about 48" x 22".

  • You can, but it's safer to add a horizontal cross brace if the bench will be rolled often. Without a brace, moving it around a shop can stress the leg mounting screws and flanges; on smooth floors and light movement, it may be fine as-is.

  • No power strip is included with these workbenches. If you want outlets at the bench, you'll need to add your own strip or power solution.

Unless Workpro reduced the wood surface dimension for this Model #, it's 48" wide x 22" deep. I ordered the exact same model number earlier this year, and that's what both of mine measure.

On second thought after looking at how many screw attachment points there are, and how robust the mounting flanges are on these tables I think you would be fine without a brace as long as you're only moving it around on smooth surfaces.
Great thoughts, I have a more robust version from Husky with a couple drawers and it has wheels - but like you said it also has a cross brace at the bottom...

Will probably be fine without some castor wheels but thought it could add some utility, maybe I can put a board in and clamp it down to brace while moving if I'm going far.

Thanks for the consideration and looking at your table!
