Cheapest 46 and 36 I see from Kobalt is $400. This is a 42 for $250. I don't see any 42's bottoms from Kobalt. And this is a tool box, not a cordless power tool ecosystem. I just retrofitted some Amazon slides on my Husky toolbox because Husky wanted too much for replacements anyway.
This HART 42 inch 9 drawer rolling tool cabinet stands out as a budget way to get a large, lockable storage box, with the extra width and drawer count appealing for anyone short on space. The cabinet is described as comparable to standard duty box store units, and the TTI build is tied to the same parent company behind Milwaukee and other retail brands. The main drawback is the $49.97 shipping fee, which pushes the total close to $250 and weakens the value versus Harbor Freight, Kobalt, or wood topped alternatives. It looks best for buyers who specifically need the 42 inch size and can live with the freight charge.
Weekend mechanics needing extra drawer space, because the 42-inch cabinet offers more room than smaller top-and-bottom boxes.
At $199.60, it is a strong price for a 42-inch cabinet, but the $49.97 shipping pushes the total close to $250 and makes it less compelling. Several comments compare it to Harbor Freight, Kobalt, and wood-topped alternatives around the same total cost or lower during sales.
It is generally viewed as lighter-duty than thicker-steel boxes like Kobalt or US General, and one comparison places it closer to Husky standard duty than heavy-duty. The cabinet is still considered usable for the price, especially if you need the extra 42-inch width.
TTI has said it is discontinuing the Walmart HART brand to focus on Ryobi and Milwaukee. That makes future parts and brand support less certain, which is why some shoppers prefer other brands or existing sale models.
If you do not specifically need the 42-inch width, two 27-inch boxes may make more sense because they offer the same depth with more flexible layout options. The 42-inch cabinet is mainly the better fit when you want one wide unit and larger drawers.
Would buy the Kobalt one from Lowe's for $299 over this. Hart also went out of business.

I got in on the top and bottom tool cabinet deal a few years ago for like $400. That was a steal as it was nearly identical to the Milwaukee branded one. I might grab this as I never have enough room.
Parent company TTI, has said they are discontinuing Walmart brand HART. They want to focus on the brands ryobi and Milwaukee.
I might be wrong and actually have no idea how it works but TTI doesnt make boxes do they so does TTI own the name Hart or does Walmer or is it like Ridgid battery vs wired or plumbing or something one is licensed through a different company. I wonder if Walmart still owns the Name for everything non power tools I think they should steer it into accesories and hand tools. But, looks like they are just going to push Hyper Tough which i actually dont hate.

I have two 36 in top and bottoms. Those full size drawers are so much more useful than these ones would be. As a weekend mechanic what I have is probably all I will ever need

The cabinet can be a strong value when the total price stays near the $199.60 sale level.
The parent company TTI is discontinuing the HART line, which may create clearance opportunities for remaining stock.
The TTI-made construction may be comparable to Husky standard duty rather than a higher-end "HD" build.
The 36-inch top-and-bottom drawer layout can be more useful than smaller drawers on this cabinet style.
The $49.97 shipping fee can make the deal unattractive even when the item price is around $200.
The HART brand is being discontinued, which can limit long-term availability of replacements or support.
The $50 delivery cost can outweigh the savings versus wood-topped versions that are periodically seen around $300.
The cabinet may not feel as sturdy as thicker-steel brands like Kobalt or US General.
