This actually does have the upfiring rears! It just is missing hdmi 2.1 ports (which sucks, but not complaining at the price) and apparently a worse subwoofer, according to Reddit.

I'm taking a chance on it, most see the 930 as the second best soundbar you can buy. I just got a Hisense one from Costco so will compare the two and see if either can beat my old Vizio which actually still sounds really good to my ears (the app is garbage and the arc port was so unreliable I ended up switching to optical, which is why I'd like a modern upgrade)

torn between this for $400 (OB fair) and a Q990f for $800 (Samsung EPP) lol....not sure if the price difference is worth it for new and better or not. Slightly better sub, 6 more speakers ....dunno man lol

Most likely won't have any cables. Possibility it doesn't have a controller. Probably sticky residue from being a display unit as well as some light scratches (this is just from experience). Most likely there's absolutely no issues with sound otherwise.

Usually I say avoid fair quality, but it's worth ordering and driving to the store imo to see it in person. Extreme YMMV, but I've had luck in the past with managers throwing in a free generic charger/controller if it was missing in the box but again, ymmv on the store/manager.

All that said, it's always a possibility that the store manager just wanted to clear it from inventory and marked it in fair condition. I got a new condition 42" LG C2 back in the day for only $400 when it was still $800 new. The manager said he marked every open box item in the store to fair condition because they had too many and just wanted to clear inventory as quick as possible.

I've returned every one of the handful of Open Box items I've purchased because their grading system is worthless. I've only ever bought "Excellent" and every one has been missing essential accessories (remotes, chargers, etc), and have visible damage, despite it supposedly being "Like New" and "Includes all accessories."

Managers never budge for me on either discounting it to a lower tier or replace the missing items. Last time I was going to buy an Open Box item I asked the manager if i could inspect it prior to purchase to ensure it has everything it should and its in good condition, and they refused. At that point I stopped buying BB Open box items entirely.

That's crazy (non-sarcasm). I buy a TON of open-box items and it's about 50/50 for me, but I've never had them say no to allowing me to inspect it/turn it on/open the box before "checking" it out to me in stores I've tried.

I bought the Hisense from Costco as well.
Not using it for anything where I need sound to blow me away, but so far I'm happy with it, and it was super easy to set up.

That said, this will be a much much better speaker setup, albeit at still a $300 premium to the Costco Hisense.

Keep in mind that even in "good" condition there's no guarantee you'll get the rear speakers or remote with open box sound bars at Best Buy.

I picked it up... It was on their display. All speakers/cables/brackets were included except the remote.
