This is a tiny dedicated MP3 player aimed at screen free listening, travel, workouts, and kids who want music without phone distractions. It is very light, adds Bluetooth 5.3, FM radio, a headphone jack, and microSD expansion, and it can be handy for offline use on planes, camping, or in the car. The main concerns are storage and sound quality, since the 32GB version can feel tight, the advertised memory setup is confusing, and some reports call the audio flat or the Bluetooth unreliable. It makes the most sense if you want a simple standalone music device.

Common Questions (5)

  • The advertised 64GB appears to be a generic microSD card in the single card slot, not internal storage. If the card is removed, there is no usable memory left, so adding capacity means swapping in a larger microSD card.

  • Yes, it supports microSD expansion up to 128GB, and the total usable capacity depends on the model and card you install. That means a 64GB version plus a 128GB card can give you 192GB total storage.

  • It includes Bluetooth 5.3 and can connect to Bluetooth speakers or headphones, which is useful for distraction-free listening. One caveat is that some car Bluetooth systems may require a pairing code on the screen, and one report says Bluetooth dropped after a few seconds.

  • It is mainly suited to local MP3 files, not streaming apps. Loading and keeping MP3s current is the main hassle, and there is no indication it supports offline Spotify or other streaming services.

  • It may not be ideal for lossless libraries because the listing recommends APE/FLAC/AAC/M4A files below about 900 kbps for smoother playback. That can be a problem for many FLAC rips, which often exceed that bitrate.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

This (same OS and by the looks, same body etc) was $10 when I bought one a couple of years ago. The audio quality is pretty bad - not an audiophile but everything was flat. I tired Equalizer etc with no effect. So, it wasn't worth at 10 because you would probably only be able to use it for podcasts.

I have a large music collection, so 32GB is not enough.

The 64GB model is only $2.50 more, at $19.99.
You can add a micro sd card up to 128 gb with this device. I usually put different genres of music on various sd cards and swap them out depending on what I want to listen to. That's how I get my large collection on a device, but really 128gb + 32gb would hold a lot of music. :-)

This looks pretty much exactly like an iPod Nano. But with more features added (BT, FM, MicroSD slot). If you already have your own CDs to rip to MP3 or already own a bunch of MP3's, it's great. But music listening has evolved from actually "owning" your own media to subscription streaming services (eg; Spotify). While this is a definite improvement of an old product, unless it supports "offline listening" from services like Spotify, it would take some adjustment to be successful for the casual music listener to adapt to the behavior (ie; paying for downloading each individual track/album).

I would invest in Shanling or Fiio instead. Also walkman is still alive, just not as cheap.

With all the cloning and ripping off IP I'm surprised no one has cloned the iPod clickwheel yet and taken over.

šŸŽ probably still holds the patent. Besides, most manufacturers have moved to touchscreens instead.
Personally, I really miss the Sony NW-E400/500 series. They were elegant, beautifully designed, and could be operated entirely by feel while still in your pocket—no need to look at the controls. I definitely miss devices like those.

The candles on the wrapped birthday present in the middle picture of the amazon page are Peak AI. LOL.

AND the first picture. The girl is sipping from a coffee cup, who also has a cup waiting in the saucer.

Im not even sure how those pictures are connected to a device of this sort in any way. Not even some mspaint headphones drawn on top of the pictures like usual.

Am I reading this correctly? Not compatible with car bluetooth systems? Is there something special about car bluetooth that makes this device only work with headphones and other bluetooth speakers but not the one in my car?

And all of them are DRM free?My point is that most "kids" these days don't buy mp3's anymore. They use a service like Spotify or Apple music. So the notion that a parent buying this for their kid as a phone free alternative is not that practical since they would have to spend a lot of money on buying mp3's that the kid probably doesn't have yet.
