This is a tiny dedicated MP3 player aimed at screen free listening, travel, workouts, and kids who want music without phone distractions. It is very light, adds Bluetooth 5.3, FM radio, a headphone jack, and microSD expansion, and it can be handy for offline use on planes, camping, or in the car. The main concerns are storage and sound quality, since the 32GB version can feel tight, the advertised memory setup is confusing, and some reports call the audio flat or the Bluetooth unreliable. It makes the most sense if you want a simple standalone music device.

Common Questions (5)

  • The advertised 64GB appears to be a generic microSD card in the single card slot, not internal storage. If the card is removed, there is no usable memory left, so adding capacity means swapping in a larger microSD card.

  • Yes, it supports microSD expansion up to 128GB, and the total usable capacity depends on the model and card you install. That means a 64GB version plus a 128GB card can give you 192GB total storage.

  • It includes Bluetooth 5.3 and can connect to Bluetooth speakers or headphones, which is useful for distraction-free listening. One caveat is that some car Bluetooth systems may require a pairing code on the screen, and one report says Bluetooth dropped after a few seconds.

  • It is mainly suited to local MP3 files, not streaming apps. Loading and keeping MP3s current is the main hassle, and there is no indication it supports offline Spotify or other streaming services.

  • It may not be ideal for lossless libraries because the listing recommends APE/FLAC/AAC/M4A files below about 900 kbps for smoother playback. That can be a problem for many FLAC rips, which often exceed that bitrate.

Also amazing how you dont know how to get MP3 files. I like to use sharaza that you get from sourceforge.net on your Windows pc.

Lately I've been using metrolist on Android to play and save music to my phone. I need to figure out how to transfer it to another phone. Guess I'm i will ask ai.

An old phone can also call 911 for emergencies even without service. Also can record video and pictures. Old phone is the way to go imo.. if you want dedicated.. i just use my current phone. i can stream fm music through tunnels over data and it connects to my car blue tooth.

this is only better being lighter for jogging but I don't think the trade offs are worth it.

you can also buy bt control devices and keep the phone tucked away.

And where are these "kids" getting legally obtained mp3 files from? They have cd's? Lol.
From their parents' old Limewire music on Zip discs.

Listening to music without any form of notification or distraction it's probably one of the most satisfying forms of peace.
It's amazing, I never had this issue. As soon as a device starts to annoy me, I find the OFF button....and golly, it doesn't annoy me anymore!

I have a large music collection, so 32GB is not enough.

The 64GB model is only $2.50 more, at $19.99.
I need the 20TB model. Do like the FM feature though.

My Microsoft Zune keeps the tunes going while I'm power walking. I like the FM radio feature but there aren't any good stations around me anymore.

Only if Sandisk still has its mp3 players. Mine still works after 10 years
I bought a new in box Sansa Clip+ for my daughter last year for sleep away camp. Took a bit to figure out how to make mp3 playlists with a 3rd party app that the Clip would be happy with, but its a great device once I got the hang of it. She loves it!

That's surprising since the were designed to fail after warranty ran out. typical apple style. also as they had mechanical hdd's. you must have gotten very lucky.
"That's surprising since the were designed to fail after warranty ran out." Is there actual proof of that? That they were "designed" to fail?

Buying this but only because its mere existence appears to make a lot of people in here super angry.

This price is almost impulse buy territory, but I still want to be happy with it. 128gb micro SD card size limit seems arbitrary. I would gamble it could take a higher capacity. It seems decently new since it has Bluetooth 5.3. It stinks that it only wants 900kbps media. A lot of my ripped flac CDs are 960kbps, and a DVD audio flac at like 2600kbps. I also worried about it over heating if I leave it in my car. Seems folks say it has that issue in the reviews. I do have a nice phone I could use, but it's a bit bulky. I'm not worried about calls interrupting my music as I could just put it in airplane mode. I think I need to do a bit more research.

Smart Phones already have these features plus more.
Went for camping and realized there was no signal inside the campgrounds. Nobody stores music on phones anymore.

I use plexamp for my music, I have about two terabytes, got it all off pirate bay. Probably purchased about fifty songs off amazon in my life at a dollar a piece, but mostly got them for free with the no rush credits. If it's not on pirate bay I'll buy the songs individually. Plexamp is great because you have the option to download the library to your phone. Plex isn't going anywhere either.

"lot of kids are now disconnecting from phones and apps"... volunteered or forced? poor kids, they should have access to internet and AI.
2026, where 'parenting' is considered "forcing". LOL

And all of them are DRM free?My point is that most "kids" these days don't buy mp3's anymore. They use a service like Spotify or Apple music. So the notion that a parent buying this for their kid as a phone free alternative is not that practical since they would have to spend a lot of money on buying mp3's that the kid probably doesn't have yet.
MP3s (and FLAC files) are DRM free, always have been. And there are half a dozen online music stores that sell them.
