This is a tiny dedicated MP3 player aimed at screen free listening, travel, workouts, and kids who want music without phone distractions. It is very light, adds Bluetooth 5.3, FM radio, a headphone jack, and microSD expansion, and it can be handy for offline use on planes, camping, or in the car. The main concerns are storage and sound quality, since the 32GB version can feel tight, the advertised memory setup is confusing, and some reports call the audio flat or the Bluetooth unreliable. It makes the most sense if you want a simple standalone music device.

Common Questions (5)

  • The advertised 64GB appears to be a generic microSD card in the single card slot, not internal storage. If the card is removed, there is no usable memory left, so adding capacity means swapping in a larger microSD card.

  • Yes, it supports microSD expansion up to 128GB, and the total usable capacity depends on the model and card you install. That means a 64GB version plus a 128GB card can give you 192GB total storage.

  • It includes Bluetooth 5.3 and can connect to Bluetooth speakers or headphones, which is useful for distraction-free listening. One caveat is that some car Bluetooth systems may require a pairing code on the screen, and one report says Bluetooth dropped after a few seconds.

  • It is mainly suited to local MP3 files, not streaming apps. Loading and keeping MP3s current is the main hassle, and there is no indication it supports offline Spotify or other streaming services.

  • It may not be ideal for lossless libraries because the listing recommends APE/FLAC/AAC/M4A files below about 900 kbps for smoother playback. That can be a problem for many FLAC rips, which often exceed that bitrate.

Is good or bad? Means can bump up the storage?
Good or bad is a value judgment. It means that the 64GB is on the SD card and not the device. So to bump up storage, you'd need to remove the 64GB card and insert something larger.

This price is almost impulse buy territory, but I still want to be happy with it. 128gb micro SD card size limit seems arbitrary. I would gamble it could take a higher capacity. It seems decently new since it has Bluetooth 5.3. It stinks that it only wants 900kbps media. A lot of my ripped flac CDs are 960kbps, and a DVD audio flac at like 2600kbps. I also worried about it over heating if I leave it in my car. Seems folks say it has that issue in the reviews. I do have a nice phone I could use, but it's a bit bulky. I'm not worried about calls interrupting my music as I could just put it in airplane mode. I think I need to do a bit more research.
The 128GB size limit likely isn't arbitrary, it's probably practical. It does take CPU power to organize and sort files, besides decoding them, etc. And maybe the firmware has a limit on how many files it can track. Plenty of reasons why they would choose to limit it that way.

I did play some flac files on mine... Some 24bit 96hz files I bought on bandcamp.com. They played well, other than I think it may have issues with long folders.

MP3s (and FLAC files) are DRM free, always have been. And there are half a dozen online music stores that sell them.
Not true. There was a time when legal sites sold mp3s but you could only play it on their site, hence it's locked. Maybe you are not old enough to remember this. I know this because I remember there use to be software that removed the DRM from the mp3. AllMP3 was one of the first site to sell unlocked mp3 (not counting illegally downloaded torrents and Napster), but even the legality of ALLMP3 was questioned. Even today there are still services that let you "download" a music file but is locked to using their app to play it.

Went for camping and realized there was no signal inside the campgrounds. Nobody stores music on phones anymore.
Spotify automatically caches recently played music for offline use, and you can designate specific songs/albums/playlists to be downloaded for offline playback as well (just click the "down" arrow next to the favorite button). But you're right in that a dedicated music player is probably going to be better while camping than a multipurpose phone.

And all of them are DRM free?
My point is that most "kids" these days don't buy mp3's anymore. They use a service like Spotify or Apple music. So the notion that a parent buying this for their kid as a phone free alternative is not that practical since they would have to spend a lot of money on buying mp3's that the kid probably doesn't have yet.
The iTunes music store (which was the vanguard for legal DRM-free music) is still pretty popular in 2026.

It's worth reading Steve Jobs' Thoughts on Music if you don't remember it from the time:

That would be a folder and file limit. My car does that. I keep a drive plugged into it. The car has a 1000 folder and 10000 file limit which translates to a folder/cd that can have 10 files/songs. That's just an average. You can put as many files in a folder you want. I did look through the description, and I didn't see a mention of those type limitations. My cd rips are 16 bit 44.1khz though my dvd audio rip was 24 bit 88.2khz. I didn't see any limitations of that nature except for the limitation of playback bandwidth of 900kbps. A lot of my cd rips are 960kbps (DVD audio was around 2600 kbps). Honestly I don't expect much from the dac, but I probably could not tell the difference between good and high end. I just don't want something bad.

Interesting read.

A few things to add : media companies did add DRM technologies to disks later on with DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k blu-ray all having different forms of (admittedly defeatable) copy protection.

What keeps and kept the majority of users from ripping CDs and uploading the contents online is a mix of some of these:

-technical know-how
-personal integrity
-time involved in ripping, organizing, etc

Probably more of the last one.

I've changed my tune from the past. I'll generally support with my dollars music that I like and want to hear more of. Love listening to 24 bit FLAC on my DAPs with 4.4m balanced output. Convenience is still king though.

You're right on the specifics of the limitations. But I get the feeling they aren't too concerned with listing limitations. After all, they neglected to state that the 64GB storage wasn't internal.

Do you have one yet? I'll have to check the bitrate of some of the FLAC files I have and see if I hit the limit.

Have you looked at a DAP with a dedicated chip for playing your files?

AllMP3! Damn, that is a name I haven't heard in ages. Dirt cheap mp3's back in the day.

I went in for 3. 1 for myself for long bike rides (yes I have unlimited phone plan, spotify and sirius XM) or when the internet/ power goes out. It takes me back to when I first had a mp3 player that was later bricked. I got 2 for my kids 10 and 8 so they can get a feel for one before I get a more expensive one for them.

Only if Sandisk still has its mp3 players. Mine still works after 10 years
I lost my 8 gb Sansa clip at an airport last year. Still sick about the 6 gb of music gone.

I find these plastic mp3 players to be substandard in comparision. Old phones are too bulky.
