I wasn't necessarily in the market, but I'd be interested in this deal.... If I didn't have to wait till October to receive it.

Someone please convince me this is a worthwhile upgrade from a basic propane setup. Primarily just cooking steaks and burgers.

Unless you plan on smoking stuff, stick to your propane grill.

You will burn through pellets very fast if you use it mostly as a grill

I'm a basic dude grilling burgers and chicken. Bought this a few years back. Chicken is fantastic, use the included probe, flip it a few times and you'll get very juicy chicken with little effort. Phone alerts you when the temp is right. Burgers are easy and taste great.

I don't use a ton of pellets and even so I'd much rather do that than lug propane tanks around and deal with the exchange process. Bought it at $800 and would absolutely do so again.

Use to love Traeger. Then they moved production overseas and quality really turned bad. We had two defective grills in a row from them. Switched to CampChef - they have been a great company so far.

Agree that Camp Chef > Traeger at this point but you do have to spend significantly more to get one. (A CC WW Pro 24 is a grand right now).

If one is unwilling to drop that amount. There is absolutely no way I'd get this over the current deal that Sam's Club has on their Member's Mark 36' smoker for $390.

That Members Mark actually looks really tempting. Smoke box for chips etc.. I don't care about the side burner, but it's cool. Seems solid. Any experience with it?

I have a Traeger 575 WiFi, but I continually run out of room in it.

No, it's not. Apples and oranges, it's like saying let me get a wok to replace my cast iron skillet. This is a smoker, not a griller, while you could do steaks and burgers on it, it'll be a different type of cook. Stick with your propane setup, and if you want to smoke meats (ribs, brisket, chicken, etc) have this as an additional.

I have a charcoal Weber, a propane grill (took it when dad passed), and a nice pellet smoker which is the true luxury buy because I don't smoke much, and honestly for the sake of my health... probably shouldn't smoke much, that said any trip to a BBQ joint ends up costing nearly $100 for my family, so even if I only do that a couple times a year the smoker will pay itself off.
