This Tramontina multicooker is best suited for boiling pasta and steaming vegetables, with the pasta insert adding convenience for everyday stovetop use. The pot feels light and has worked well for several cooks, and the stainless steel body has stayed looking new in short-term use. The main knocks are thin construction, a bottom plate that is not fully clad, and the insert reducing capacity enough to make boiling overflow sooner. Rust, damage, and even a loose bottom piece were also reported, so the lower price matters here.

Common Questions (5)

  • Some units have rusted in multiple places after one use or developed bottom-piece issues, while others have stayed rust-free after weeks of use. The practical takeaway is to inspect the finish and seams carefully before buying, since durability appears inconsistent.

  • The pot is described as lighter and thinner than expected, and the base uses a plate rather than full cladding. It can still handle boiling pasta and steaming vegetables, but the construction feels less substantial than higher-end stainless cookware.

  • At this price, several buyers consider it a good value if you want a basic pasta pot or steamer, and some would buy it again. Earlier buyers at $29-$40 felt they overpaid, especially given the thinner build.

  • This Costco multicooker is described as part of Tramontina's China line, while Tramontina Brazil cookware is viewed separately. That distinction is used to explain why this version gets worse feedback than other Tramontina products.

  • The insert reduces usable capacity a lot and can make the pot overflow quickly at a boil. It also needs more water and can slow heating enough that the convenience benefit is reduced.

I got this first when it was discounted to 39, then a few weeks got discounted to 29, and now it's 19. So far this works for me (over gas) but I feel like I overpaid.

They give you a refund if it is within 30 days of purchase.
Even if the item is out of stock at the store?

Can you use this on a gas stove or is this only good for induction type stoves? I've heard amazing things about Tramontina, but haven't gotten clarity on this.
It will work fine on gas and electric as well.

For $20 it's finish but it's really thin, poorly constructed, and not up to what I expect from this brand. Ended up returning it at $40.
I saw them on display in store. I can confirm that they are on the lighter side.

Trash. Rusted in multiple places after one use. Returned
Surprising. I have multiple tramontina stuff and it has been fairly reliable. But thanks to see this comment as I will thoroughly inspect.

I've never had a problem with Tramontina Brazil. This trash is their China line, hence the bad reviews.
Oh wow, yeah I have one of their steamers that I got from Walmart over a decade ago and it's still going strong.

With insert, it holds a lot less than you'd think. Starts overflowing quickly at a boil

I bought two of these about six weeks ago for $30 each. Other than the fact that I kind of wish I'd waited for this price drop, I'm very happy with mine. I've used it many times for pasta and for steaming vegetables and it works great and still looks brand new.

Does Costco price match if the item OOS. I bought this a couple weeks ago for $15+ more
They would not. Only price match item that is in stock.

Made in China or Brazil? If its China, its trash regardless of the name brand. From experience, the Brazilian Tramontina are made way better.

I picked this up when it hit $29. Used twice, there is no rust or damage, but I've noticed using the yhe strainer requires a lot more water, and that the water never boils because the stainer interrupts the water flow.

My main interest was the convenience of the strainer, but the added heating time kind of negates the benefit.
