Waysource is fine and they're an authorized Milwaukee dealer so you know you're not getting a knock-off. You can verify this at https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Buy-Now and look them up by zip code (11385). They'll appear in that list as "Safety Source" because they recently changed their name.

Single batteries from homedepot are currently $210 EACH battery. Check out supplyhouse, grainger, etc. and they can get up to $280 for each XC5. The only deals that seem to be less than this current one are when woot.com has them.
Yup, good deal. I have an M18 set going on 8 years old that's been nothing but abused the first 3. Last 5 has largely sat but the 5.0 battery (one of 2 but I ruined the other) is STILL holding a charge over 18 months. I finally cracked the housing dropping it the 150th time. So I got these. Also have a 9.0 (EDIT- it was a 8.0) I scored on here 5 yrs ago for 100 EDIT 119 for the stickler in the crowd... at HD but it's too big to want to use for the small impact. 1/2 in impact is fine since it's a monster, and grinder is good with it but overheats.

A 9.0 for $100? What kind of Ryobi lime green ooze are you smoking? Maybe as part of an expensive tool ad-on deal.
It's getting close to my automatic buy threshold of $10/Ah if that tells you anything. Haven't had any problems out of my 5.0 batteries yet and i have 4 of them in 18v. Matter of fact the only bad 18V Milwaukee battery I've had is a 9.0Ah battery. One of its cells is dead and renders the unit useless, I need to replace that one cell, but have been lazy.

No...battery only purchase...found the post on here back then. It was somewhere between June 1 and the 3rd week of September 2021. You have to be pretty lonely to try and break someone's balls implying I was less than forthcoming about a goddamn deal from 5 years ago. I did misspeak about the size....it was an XC 8.0.... And even those "Expensive tool add on deal(s)" you described allow for the return of the tool (or did until my last exposure to it in late 2024)... so not much effort for even those tow step deals.
