The Pika 3D scanner is available at the Creality store for $603.90, with the code PIKA5OFF from this blog post [creality.com]. This way it's cheaper than the other options for it on eBay etc. It ships in mid-August.
A 3D scanner like the Pika lets you turn real objects into digital models, which can be useful when you want to recreate a broken part, scan a person or object for 3D printing, or modify an existing object in CAD (even if you have no 3D printer).
The Pika has two scanning modes. The blue laser line mode is designed for small parts and fine surface details. The NIR (near infrared) mode works better for larger objects and people. Its capabilities are similar to the Creality Raptor, but the Pika is now the budget-friendly option with more features like the built-in rear display that makes it easier to guide the scanner because you can see whether tracking is stable and which areas still need to be captured while you move around the object. The Pika is not a standalone scanner, but it supports Wi-Fi and can be used with a compatible smartphone or computer.

My desktop is fairly beefy, 5900x, 64gb ram, RTX3090 and it runs perfectly fine on there.
So... if you don't have a high end phone, laptop, or desktop, you're not going to have a good experience. But that could be said for most scanners other than ones that can do all its processing onboard.
