anything free after rewards that you can then spend on more items at Office Depot is a good deal to me. Helps if you have a physical location near by.

If you want to lower your out of pocket up front, you can buy them in store and price match the battery prices to Amazon where they are cheaper.

I play the OD rewards game myself. Nice thing about this deal is, let's say you spend $19.99 on a pack of batteries. You get back $19.99 in rewards and because you've spent $10+ oop you can also recycle 10 ink cartridges for the calendar month you are in. this deal will overlap in July and Aug so you could buy one pack in each month, recycle 10 inks in each month and get another $40 in rewards on top of the rewards for the batteries.

So let's say you spend $16 each month on a pack PM'ing to Amazon in store. And you recycle 10 ink carts in July and then with your August purchase. You'll have $72 in rewards on a $32 outlay, nice rewards money maker assuming you have old inks laying around to turn in.

The rewards are valid for 3 full months from the month you earn them. August rewards earned will be valid to 11/30 (at Black Friday season)

I spend my rewards on postage stamps, breakroom/cleaning items (like Charmin/Bounty) and price match to walmart for good pricing so my rewards are getting me good value vs the high prices OD tends to charge for these items.

Plus you'll have the batteries on top of it to use.

Not everyone wants to play the OD rewards game, so really up to you, but it can be an excellent deal if you fully exploit it to your advantage.

Beware that all AA & AAA Duracells are very well known for years to often leak. I've had them leak in their own packaging years before "expiration date." Have done this deal at times, but I either put them in things I don't care about or give them away and let recipient know they are Duracells and will probably leak.

yes, this issue has been raised a number of times on threads. Although, my personal experience has been pretty good. not sure if how you are using them (exposure to temps or other factors play a part) is the issue.

but for TV remotes, computer gadgets, stuff that's used on a regular or fairly regular basis, never had an issue since I'm changing them often enough for them not to get old. Yes, finding an old wireless mouse that I hadn't touched in 3 years and open the back to find all leaked batteries has happened, but that is the exception.

Seems like everything so expensive to use the rewards even paper towels like double the price for bounty. May be more of annoyance to price match online. No local

I can't disagree with you if you don't have a B&M location near by. PM'ing online is a pain.

However, if you do the deal after 8/1, the rewards earned then will be valid to 11/30 and usable on Black Friday (maybe Cyber Monday if still Nov) deals where you should be able to score some decent deals on a host of items.

I got price match online. Good deal! I will do the same for the paper towels too and whatever else. Very expensive if you don't.
