Ryobi's 40V 300 watt portable inverter bundle stands out for pairing the newer pure sinewave inverter with a 6.0 amp hour battery, making it useful for cordless fans, work lights, camping, and other small loads. The newer unit adds high wattage USB C output and GaN efficiency, and it can double as a charger through a USB port. The main caveat is price, since the bundle is being compared against lower direct outlet and open box alternatives, and the inverter still tops out at 300 watts including startup surge. A practical compact power option if the battery and newer features matter.
Common Questions (5)
DirectToolsOutlet has been cited at about $105 for the 6Ah battery with warranty and about $54 for the inverter, while Secondipity has been mentioned at $90 open-box with occasional 20% coupons. The DTO battery is reconditioned rather than new, and the inverter listing there is the older discontinued model.
The bundle is priced around the cost of the 6Ah battery alone, while the inverter is typically sold separately for about $110 and the battery for about $220. That makes the package attractive if you want both items, especially since 40V batteries rarely go on sale by themselves.
The new inverter is a pure sinewave unit with high-wattage USB-C output and GaN for better efficiency. It can also double as a charger through one of the USB ports, which makes it more versatile than the older model.
It can charge devices through a USB port, but it cannot be used as a solar charger. The solar-charger capability is not part of this inverter's function.
The inverter is rated for 300W max, including startup surge. That is enough for cordless fans, work lights, and similar small loads, but not for larger appliances.

This is supposed to be SLICKDEALS, not "a slight discount off outrageously inflated prices" deals.
THAT is the old inverter. The deal was for the new one. FWIW, I have the new inverter and have had the old ones. Back in June, they had the new inverters at 2 for $179. I wound up buying because there are several features that are nicer. Pure sinewave, can double as a charger using one of the USB ports so you can even use it as a solar charger. For me that was enough to flip my old ones and put the money towards these. Even the old ones are pretty useful as long as you understand they can only handle 300 W, max (including startup).
Makes any fan a cordless fan, any worklight a cordless worklight, plus all sorts of other things, especially if you go camping but even for the beach or backyard.

"Pure sinewave, can double as a charger using one of the USB ports "
Applies to the OLD ONE as well. Can't use it as a "solar charger", so if you want to pay more for that, go ahead.
PS, I have 2x the 300W inverter and 2x the 1800W 40V Powerstation, so I know what I'm talking about.
