Google AI Pro for students is a strong value at $4.99 a month, bundling Gemini access with 5 TB of Google Drive storage and YouTube Premium Lite, with some accounts also showing Gemini Health Coach. The promo has been claimed through Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, and Gemini, though the claim flow can be finicky and sometimes redirects to the normal manage plans page or full price. The offer also appears to recur after a prior trial ends, and some accounts needed extra verification beyond the .edu email. It is a useful bundle if you want the storage and paid Gemini features together.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. Clicking the popup can route to the normal manage-membership page, show only the $20 plan, or say the offer is unavailable. In some cases, reopening Drive in Chrome or using the Drive app's Plus button is what finally lets the claim go through.

  • The offer can surface in Google Drive, Google Docs, or the Drive app instead of Sheets or Gemini. Opening Drive from your Google account, then using the banner or Plus/Claim button, has worked when browser claim links redirected to the normal plan page.

  • Yes, the student promo can renew for another 12 months at about $5/month after the prior trial ends. The membership screen may show a future start date and a next payment of $19.99/month, but the subscription settings can still show the $4.99 next payment.

  • For heavy use, the paid plan can be worth it because it adds 5TB storage and extra features, while the free Gemini account already includes the same core models for many users. For lighter use, the free tier may be enough, but the paid plan is the better fit when you need more capacity or storage.

  • Yes. The plan includes Gemini access, Google Drive 5TB storage, and YouTube Premium Lite, with some listings also mentioning Gemini Health Coach. That makes it a much larger bundle than Gemini access alone.

Does anyone have a screenshot of the offer banner? I would like to try to contact CS and see if I can still claim the offer after paying for the AI Plus Plan for a month.

Anything AI is trash not paying for it gg use brain instead. Smh that's why college grads are less intelligent than those 50 yrs ago
If you're graduating college now, you better have some skill in AI or you'll be left behind in many fields in the very near future. That's like saying "why use Google search when the library is full of books I can find the answers in?" or "why use that chainsaw when I have this perfectly good hand saw?"

Tried all the tricks listed yesterday and couldn't get the offer to appear (Chrome/Edge, Sheets or Drive sites).

Then I tried again today, in Chrome, and opened Drive from my GMAIL account and offer showed up.

Gemini AI Pro student trial ends on Sept 7th and now renews for another 12 months at $5/month...thank you!

Got this a couple of weeks ago via notification on my Android phone

Great deal when it's $5 per month, greedy ripoff when it's $20 per month
It's not really a ripoff when they're giving you gemini access and 5TB cloud storage, chatgpt alone will charge you $20 just for access to their models without the cloud storage or YT premium

I was able to claim this offer recently here in August. My free year doesn't end until September. The banner showed up in Google Docs when I opened some school communication about the upcoming school year.

I am wondering the same about YouTube Premium Lite. I signed up but my plan won't change until August 8th. No indication of YouTube Premium Lite currently but I am hoping it magically appears on 8/8
This is my follow-up as I was charged the expected price of $4.99 + tax. Happy to report YouTube Premium Lite is now part of my listed benefits today.

Anyone gotten this deal recently? I was hoping it would eventually pop up. Mine expires in a few weeks.
