This monitor is ultra wide 1440p, not 4k.
This monitor has HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2a (this is a monumental flaw for many potential buyers; further explanation below).
To run this monitor uncompressed at 5120 x 1440 in 10bit color @144hz (the monitors limit) it requires 31.85gbps (plus overhead).
DP 1.2a is limited to 21.6gbps.
HDMI 2.0 is limited to 18gbps.
You will be forced to pick and choose which of the maximums you want, the monitors input ports cannot run the screen at all its max settings at the same time. And again, its NOT 4k.

Sadly, many monitors today skimp on the port inside the monitor where the cable plugs in, and that becomes a significant limiting factor. In most setups, your video card will be able to push 80gbps, the cable you buy will be able to push 80gbps, and the monitor input port will be limited at 21gbps, or 32gbps. It's a genuine sham that is unbelievably prolific in the monitor industry right now. For some users and in some cases DSC (compression) can fill the gap, and in other cases it can't. If you are a game that plays full screen, it will add a re-handshaking period where your screen will turn black for 5-10 seconds whenever you alt tab, or exit the game etc; as a consequence of utilizing DSC.

The actual limitation of this monitor is more like 5120x1440 @60hz in 10bit.

The one I had in the office started displaying weird vertical banding after a few months (it may have been due to a power surge / brownout), but they (MSI) ended up replacing it anyway.
The only real knock I have on it is the somewhat forced pixel refresh mode. You can cancel out of it (or at least I used to be able to). It runs for a few minutes with the screen powered off... and then you're back in business.
I got in around the $679 mark. This is pretty slick for what you get.
