What? This is an epic lens!!! The PF design makes it about the lightest and smallest 500mm you're going to find on the market. I wish Nikon made a Z mount version of these lenses.

They did, the 600 and 800 in Z mount are PF lenses.

Z mount and affordable is pretty much an oxymoron. Just use the adapter.

At this price there's no reason not to use it on Z. I already bought a 100-400 so this isn't really the best focal length for me, also don't have a spare adapter.

Or get the 400 4.5, which is not a PF lens, and is pricey, but is a great lens.

must... not... buy... I already have the 180-600 and I hardly ever use it. Unfortunately, it's not PF so the backgrounds are messy and distracting.
