Word, they clearly want everyone to go the PC route so I obliged.

If I have to go digital I'm doing it on a platform where multiplayer is free and I have multiple store fronts to purchase my digital rental.

while it is not completely impossible for steam to do so and certainly is not a perfect company, there are some key factors that differentiates steam from their console counterparts:

-has always been more community driven
-already operating on an extremely lean workforce
-been around longer and service has always been more stable
-their players are way more tech savvy in general than your standard submissive console players and wouldn't think twice to either boycott or straight up move to pirating titles if needed be.

I remember way back when I was skeptical of Steam for being all digital and Game Newell stated that there was a contingency plan for users to be able unlock the authentication checks in the event of the company going under. This is not binding in the TOS so it could be just hope at this point.

Dont forget that Sony makes you pay for cloud storage or tramsfer for saved games. Also their refund policy is terrible.

I used to offset ps+ costs by borrowing new games from my library.

It will never be rereleased as physical, there was essentially a falling out between Larian and Hasbro. Pre owned copies go for $90+

And yes, with it on Steam and I believe even GOG, theres no point to have this on PS5. Oh, and on PC it will run perfectly fine with a Ryzen 2600 and RX580

I tried to play this game twice. I'm sure it's amazing. But I simply don't have the time or energy to sink into games like this anymore. It needs a HUGE investment of playing hours.

So never played a game like this, but is it similar to crimson desert, but way more polished?

Can't stand crimson desert after a while, since it's so repetitive. Bland side mission, boring quest, etc...

Wanted to start with Divinity: Original Sin 1, since it's under $10.

They have the physical on the Larian website. It's the deluxe copy with a bunch of extras.
